"Dude I can't believe you finally got it done, does it hurt?" Luke asked, leaning in to look at Michael's eyebrow piercing.
"Fuck off Luke," Michael laughed, swatting at Luke to get out of his face.
"How does it feel dude?" Ashton asked from his seat across from us, his arm wrapped around his girlfriend, Lily.
"I only got it three days ago so it's still kinda fresh," Michael shrugged, his arm hanging around my shoulder.
"Do you like it Jess?" Luke asked. He was sitting by Callie but they weren't touching.
"Yeah, it looks hot," I confessed.
"It looks hot?" Michael looked down, a goofy smile on his face.
"You're making him turn the color of his hair!" Luke pointed at Michael, laughing. Michael's cheeks were a cute shade of red.
"Shut the fuck up Luke," Michael pointed his finger back at Luke, a beer can in his hand.
"Hey, don't fucking swear!" Ashton giggled, taking a small sip from the beer he held in his hand.
We all laughed from the floor of Calums basement. Calum was having a party tonight, but we all came early to just hang out for a little while. Except Calum was nowhere to be seen.
"Where's Calum?" Asked Sam. I was secretly hoping that Sam and Calum would date, then everyone in our friend group would be together.
"He was getting in another fight with his lovely girlfriend the last time I checked," Michael spat out, taking another swig of his beer.
"God I hate Angela," Luke muttered, taking a sip of his beer.
"Yeah," Sam agreed, taking a sip of hers.
"You and Jess don't want a beer?" Luke asked, looking at Callie who just shook her head.
I said no too, which earned a smile from Michael.
Calum finally walked through the door, giving me a signature Calum smile and eye crinkle as he did. I smiled back, Calum was my favorite of Michael's friends. Any time I wasn't with Michael or Callie and Sam, I was with Calum.
After Calum finally showed up, the party started and the once empty house was filled with groups of people I didn't know. I recognized some of them from school and we had short meaningless conversations, before I went to look for my people.
I found Sam in the living room with a sad looking Calum, okay check. I walked past the kitchen to see a Michael Clifford going through the fridge, check. I walked into the dining room to see Ashton and Lily making out in a corner...check.
I then made my way to the basement and spotted Luke, but that wasn't a check because there was no Callie to be found.
After awkwardly pushing my way past a group of people, I got to Luke.
"Hey where's your girlfriend?" I cupped my hand to his ear, so he could hear me over the music playing from a speaker a couple feet away.
"She's not my girlfriend," Luke said, taking a big swig of his beer.
Okay....
"My bad I forgot you two, weren't dating," I said kind of loudly, putting quotes around the words, 'weren't dating'.
They had this weird thing about "labels" and "titles" so they refused to call each other boyfriend and girlfriend even though well, that's what they were.
"How the fuck was I supposed to know!" Luke kind of yelled, chugging the rest of his beer.
Okay now I was officially confused.
