There's only two more days of summer which means today is my birthday. The big eighteen, I was now considered a legal adult.

This birthday was bittersweet. Being eighteen made me feel old, but at the same time it had it's advantages. It meant people taking you seriously, getting more freedom.

But then again, Michael was eighteen and I never took him seriously.

I hung out with Michael yesterday because I knew i'd be spending my birthday with my family, and I had dinner plans with Callie and Sam. I had a feeling I would be seeing Michael later tonight at a 'surprise' party. I don't really like parties because I don't like big groups of people and I don't drink, but I had a feeling one was coming based off of how weird everyone was acting.

I left the house on my way to meet Callie and Sam and I was wearing the bracelet Michael gave me yesterday. It was a silver bracelet, a cheaper version of a pandora bracelet. It was the same idea, you could put little charms on it. I don't care about labels and brands and Michael knows that, I care about memories and the thought behind things.

On the bracelet were two little charms, a heart and an icecream cone. Michael blushed when I opened it, saying, "You can wear the bracelet and it will be like bringing me with you." I smile at the memory as I get in my car and drive to the restaurant.

After eating and catching up with Callie and Sam, we all got ice cream and walked around for a while. I knew they were stalling as last minute surprise party things were getting handled, but I played along. We hadn't hung out just me, Sam and Callie in a while and we all missed it.

Sam got a text and then casually suggested that we go over to Calum's house because the boys had a small gift for me. I acted like I was clueless as I followed Sam and Callie to Calums house.

"Surprise!"

We opened the door and were bombarded with screams of surprise and party blowers. Loud music was playing and balloons were floating to the ceiling.

Luke was beaming at me as he pulled me in for a hug. "Happy Birthday Jessie, I'm so glad we became friends," Luke said softly into my ear.

Calum hugged me next, a big goofy smile on his face as he blew into the party horn, right beside my ear. I swatted at him, but smiled as he leaned in for the hug, "Happy Birthday Jess."

Ashton took me in for a hug next. I would've thought it was weird since I'd only hung out with him a few times, but that was just Ashton's personality. He was a really sweet guy.

Ashton's girlfriend Lily waved at me once Ashton pulled away, "Happy Birthday Jessie," she smiled. I smiled back, I wanted to get to know her better she seemed sweet.

Angela came around the corner next. That's weird, I thought her and Calum broke up?

"Happy Birthday," she mumbled, a small smile on her face. I said thank you and smiled back, despite my strong dislike for the girl.

"Where's Mike?" I asked as I wandered further into Calum's house.

"I don't know I just talked to him a while ago, he should be on his way," Luke said, sounding confused. He took a sip of his beer as he slung his arm around Callie and pulled her close, kissing the side of her head.

I started to get bombarded with many "Happy Birthday's" and "I miss you's" and, "how has your summer been's", that I soon forgot about Michael's absence. I figured he was on his way, maybe with another surprise.

I soon found Sam and Callie, along with Calum and Luke...and Angela?

"Heyy, look who it is! It's the birthday girl!" Calum yelled over the music, an arm slung over Angela's shoulder.
