Chapter 30

Lexie's POV:

"Lexie, can you please calm down and tell me what's going on?" Niall asked confused. I took a few deep breaths trying to calm down.

"He-e came b-back." I stuttered concentrating on breathing. Niall mentioned me for telling me more.

"My ex." 

"You mean the one who..." He asked and I nodded my head fast. His eyes widened and I squeezed his hand. He looked around and then back at me. 

"Where is he?" Niall asked and I pointed my finger against the bedroom down the hall. Niall noticed that I was terrified and he hugged me. I buried my head in the crook of his neck. We stayed like that  or only a few seconds before Niall pulled away.

"We have to get out." He said and picked me up bridal style. I laid my head against his chest, hearing his heartbeats made my heart flutter. My wrist were sore and my ribs ached. My face felt like it had been used as a punching bag and I felt really dizzy. We where just about to walk out the door before we heard a voice coming from behind us.

"And where do you think that you're going?" Derek voice slurred. Niall was about to storm out of the flat with me in his arms but I looked over his shoulder and stopped him.

"Niall, he has a gun." My voice whispered unsteady. Derek laughed.

"That's right babe, so your friend here better put you down or I will." Derek said and I wanted to cry even more. Niall turned around with me still in his arms, his grip tightening. Derek stood there with a gun pointed towards us and I knew who owned it.

"Im sorry if I scared you so much that you had to sleep with a gun in your nightstand or would you just want to spice up our sex life a bit?" Derek smirked and I watched Niall's jaw clench and his face was looking at Derek in disgust. "Drop her." Derek said sharply at Niall. Niall didn't response.

"Niall? I whispered. His strong blue eyes looked down at me.

"Im never going to let you go." He said and I knew for sure that Derek had heard him. I watched as Derek's face flushed in anger and I knew that he was about to pull the trigger.

"Drop her I said. She's mine." Derek spat and Niall looked and him with no expression. 

"That's were you're wrong. She is not. She never was, she never has and she never will be. You heard me say to her that I wasn't going to let her go. And I'm not going to." And in the moment he said that, I fell for him. And I fell hard. Then Niall continued."So why don't you get your skanky ass bank to jail where you belong among rapists and pshyco people." Niall's words was hard as ice. Derek's face was puzzled. 

"That's it." And when Derek was about to pull the trigger I closed my eyes taking one last breath. This was it. And when I heard the click I was prepared to fall to the ground but instead heard a voice.

"What the hell Lexie?! No bullets?!" Derek's voice was pissed and I opened my eyes. A bullet never went off. I looked up at Niall and he was smirking.

"You see, Dexter or whatever your name is" Niall started and Derek stopped him.

"It's Derek." He corrected Niall and Niall rolled his eyes.

"You see, I don't give a fuck so listen closely." Niall said while setting me carefully down on a desk I had in the living room and then walked over to Derek.

"You get your ass out of here and back in jail. I never want to see you ever again and if I do, I promise you that I will fucking snap your neck. And if you even lay a finger or breathe in the same room as Lexie again I will not give a second thought about killing you. It would be my pleasure." Niall said. The room grew quiet before Derek tried to punch Niall. Niall grabbed the gun out of his hands and knocked it into Derek's scull and he his body fell on the floor. I gasped loudly and Niall hurried over to me.

"Are you okay?" He asked worried and I looked at him.

"Is he dead?" My voice was pitch high.

"No, he's breathing. Let's get the fuck out of here and call the police." Niall said and took me in his arms and carried me downstairs and to his car.
