Today I'm going to step away,
Give you the pen and paper- have your say.
Today I'm going to let you go,
Spread your wings and always know.
I'm going to get a grip and accept fate,
But hurry, hurry, don't be late.
I'll give you the stuff to right this down,
Write it well and make me proud.
One day we can look back on this story,
Maybe everything will be 'hunky dory'.
Maybe we'll have got a grip,
Or maybe fate gave us the slip.
So write it down don't spare detail,
Write as fast as wind in a gale,
I guarantee this won't be boring,
Don't wait for me, write the story.
