Let Them Go

(Another poem of which I have a beat in my head, I'll try and telepathically send it to you.)

I've been told all my life if you love somebody than let them go,

But what do you do when they don't want to know?

That they refuse to listen to you or your opinion,

You're trying to tell them but they just keep singing.

Don't they realise that it's for the best,

That the relationships been put to the test,

That maybe you want just a little rest,

From all the drama?

But I should have expected,

The thoughts resurrected,

That you wouldn't see me but I know,

If you love somebody, you let them go.

If they don't come back then it never was really,

If they come back then love is more than a feeling,

But I'm tired of the drama and I just want a break,

Can't they accept it not try to overtake?

I get that they still want to hold on because we're best friends,

But I never said our friendship has to come to an end,

Because I'm tired of it all being about you,

What you've done and what you do.

But I should have expected,

The thoughts resurrected,

That you wouldn't see me but I know,

If you love somebody, you let them go.

You're my confident, the one I turn to in need,

The one I share my laughs with but the caution I must heed,

Because the tension is building and you don't understand,

I'll never let go of your hand.

They need to realise that we are still friends,

This friendship, no it will never end,

But please realise that I just need a break,

I've had too much drama for me to take.

But I should have expected,

The thoughts resurrected,

That you wouldn't see me but I know,

If you feel the same way, let me go.
