I'm Still Learning

Ch.3

                         Steven's Pov

              I lit the fire then sat with peridot on the couch.After a few moments I felt peridot lay her head on my shoulder the snuggle up next to me. I stiffend realizing I was blushing. I grabbed the blanket that I got off of my bed and wrapped it around us making us seem closer. I decided to just relax in this moment after all it's not .....bad it's acually quite wonderful. " Steven....." Peridot said close to a whisper. "Yeah..." I said in the same tone. "Why does the power go out during thunderstorms?" "Well, the wind rocks the wires outside back and forth and that messes with the power." I say putting my arm around her.

             She turned around looking at me. We both sat up still looking into each others eyes. We were now inches away from each other. I could tell that Peridot didn't know what was going on and just followed me, I could see it in her eyes. then  as we were a few centimeters away the warp pad activated and we saw the gems. " Steven are you alright!?" Pearl screamed running over to us. The lights then flickered on and me and peridot got up. " What is Peridot doing here?" she asked confused. Just as we were about to explain Garnet came over and lead pearl to her room and told her to go in for the night. 

          She then went into her room and Amethyst went to hers. That left us alone again.We both chuckled and I got up to put out the fire. ' That was too close! They could have seen us! What were You thinking Steven? Trying to kiss Peridot?' I looked over at Peridot. She blushed which made me blush and I looked away. "Well it looks like the storm is ending and its also night so Imma go to bed you can stay for the night if you want." I said stretching. She looked up with a grin." Yeah, I'd like that." She said laying on the couch. I smiled and said " Good night!" And went off to bed.
