Chapter 18: When We Seek

I was terrified. But then again I always am. To be fair though, we have been doing a lot of scary things. So I have the right to freak out. I mean wouldn't you? We have to bargain with the enemy to save Michie's boyfriend.

But I wasn't ready to do this. I want to save Eclipse. But I don't want to face Valli. She’s like really scary, and strong. And yeah I explained this already.

We were all packed into Michie’s car, headed to a gas station, as we used her car a lot. And by a lot I mean pretty much every day. Michie rolled into the gas pump and asked us if we wanted anything from the store. I asked for a pop, Chelsea wanted a chocolate bar, Ken asked for a bag of chips, and Daemon got an apple juice. We sure do like a variety of things.

Once Michie filled up the gas tank and paid for it along with our snacks, we made our way over to the restaurant Michie mentioned. It was pretty fancy place. And considering we were all wearing jeans, I’d be shocked if they let us in.

When we walked up to the door, they looked me up from head to toe. They did that to all of us. But when the doorman got to Michie they stopped.

“Michie, is that you?” The man asked her, leaving me completely confused.

“Hi. I haven’t seen you in a long time, Dad.” Wait did she say Dad?

“Yeah, tell me about it. So are you going to introduce me to your friends and tell me why you guys are here?”

“Well we were hungry. And this is Chelsea.” She pointed to Chelsea. “That’s Garrett and Daemon. And you obviously know Ken.”

“Michie-Chan, you’re lying to me. I know that you’re not just here to eat.”

“No that’s all we’re here for.”

“Then you’re headed somewhere after?”

“How did you?” She stuttered.

“I know my daughter. Now answer me.”

“We’re headed to save my boyfriend from an evil goddess who is also Daemon’s mother. But first we have to get his sister to convince her who is a wood nymph. But that’s not important. And then when we do we can save him.” She said quickly. But he just burst into a laughing fit.

“You’re still going on about that? Next you’re going to tell me that all these people have supernatural powers.”

“It’s true. And they do.” She looked him in the eyes. “Whatever just bring me to Mom. I’d rather talk to her anyways.” She pushed past her dad.

“You will not talk to her.”

“Why? She’ll actually understand. I got this blood from her side. Not yours.”

“That’s exactly why you may not talk to her. She put these crazy thoughts into your head.”

“Crazy? Yes. They may be crazy but I’m telling the truth. Why won’t you believe me?”

"Because you and your friends, and your Mother are all insane,"

"Look Sir I know you don't believe us but we need to hurry, just show us to Kou-San."

"Look son, none of you may talk to her."

"Chelsea I need you to show him we're not lying, you know what to do." She ordered her.

"Right," Chelsea looked into Michie's father's eyes. And he started to turn to stone, from head to toe. And once he was fully stone we snuck by him.

"I'll heal him later. We just have no time. It also looks like we won't be able to eat something. Sorry guys."

"It's okay. Let's just get to Kou-San."
