Chapter 20: Garrett: Stronghold

We had been outside Valli’s tree for a good 20 minutes. Michie was trying to tell us what to do, Ken was thinking of a plan of attack, Daemon was freaking out because we had to talk to his sister who had shot him, and I was relaxing in the car not worrying about anything. Okay that’s a lie. I was worrying about Chelsea. Daemon had stopped freaking out and joined me in the car.

“Hey what are you thinking about?” He asked me as he took a seat next to me.

“I’m worried about Chelsea. She went to face Chaoran’s right hand... woman. How do we know she’ll be able to do it by herself?”

“Don’t worry. Chelsea’s a strong girl; she can do more than you think.”

“I know I’m just worried. Um so are we ever going to go in?”

“Ask Michie, she’s in charge.”

“Why can’t we just go in? What’s stopping us?”

“Well this is stopping you and I.” He kissed me. “Is that a good enough reason not to go in yet?”

“It’s a perfect reason. Now can we go slap Michie and force her to let us go in now?” I started to open the door, and I had my left foot out the door but Daemon stopped me, and placed another kiss on my lips.

“Okay now we can go.” We both were laughing as we exited Michie’s vehicle.

“Hey Michie,” I called.

“What is it, Garrett?”

“I was wondering when we were going to head in.”

“Oh yeah... about that.”

“What is it, Michie?”

“Well you see, I tried to get in and it seems Valli blocked it off.”

“So you’re saying we can’t get in?”

“I’m not saying anything like that.”

“But you just said that.”

“You have no proof.”

“I have Daemon.”

“I hate you.”

“No you don’t.”

“What are you doing here?” We all jumped, including Ken. Then we all slowly turned to face, the face of pure evil. Well her daughter.

“Valli,” Daemon said, while making his way closer to her.

“Stay away.”

“But Valli, I just want to talk.”

“I said stay away!” She yelled at him.

“Valli what’s the matter?”

“It’s Aaron, he told me the truth. And now he brought Chelsea, to Chaoran. So she has 2 people now.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Aaron and our mother planned everything. From the moment you two met.”

“We trusted him!”

“I know Daemon, the only thing that threw them off guard, is you Garrett. You are the key to breaking this plan.”

“What did I do?”

“You saved Daemon, you brought him to the diner, and you didn’t go with her when she wanted to. So she had to get someone else. You caused all of that. You are the key to messing up their plan. Now we have to go. We must save Chelsea, and Eclipse.”
