I tried to find someone I knew in the crowd but I couldn’t. There were so many people, that I didn’t even know what way was up. I made my way to the stairs, by pushing through all the people. I sat down on the stairs, and looked down at the people trying to find someone I knew. But I forgot everyone was wearing masks, making my task even harder.

When I thought I had found Chelsea, I walked down the steps and towards her. I tapped her on the shoulder, and she removed her mask. I then saw the face of pure evil. The one person I didn’t want to see here; for more than one reason.

   “Hello, Garrett.” She smiled.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I screamed over the loud music.

“Garrett, calm down. I was invited.” She kept her devilish smile.

“Who on earth would invite you?”

   “My darling, Chelsea invited me.”

   “Why would she do that?”

“She did it because not everyone hates me, Garrett.”

“Look, the real reason I’m worried, is Hellion’s here. He’s going to kill you.” She laughed at that.

“Do I look like an idiot? I killed him years ago.” I shook my head.

“No, you thought you did. He’s back, and he somehow heard about this party, and he knows you’re here, so watch out.” As much as I hated warning her, I felt the need to do it.

“Yeah sure,” She turned around and bumped into someone. That someone removed their mask, revealing Hellion.

   “We meet again, my darling.”

Chelsea

After everyone split up, I sat at Daemon’s small dining table. Someone else I didn’t know did the same. I looked at them I checked them out, or should I say him. He had buff shoulders, brown hair, hazel eyes, he was also tan. That was about all I could see from where I was at, and without the mask blocking his face.

“Hi,” He said, flashing a smile.

“Hey, I’m Chelsea, what’s your name?” I tried to be polite.

   “I’m Chris.”

“You’re not a talker, are you?”

“I don’t really go to parties, but I was dragged by my friend.”

   “She sounds like a bitch.”

“He just wanted to get in Valli’s pants. But she broke it to him that she’s pregnant.”

“What a deal breaker.” I said.

“Yeah, it is.” He said. “This is a nice home; I hear it belongs to Valli’s younger brother.”

“Yeah, he’s my best friend. I was here before the party started.”

“Are you sure you’re not more than best friends?”

“I’m sure, he has a boyfriend.”

“Whoa, then you’re definitely more than best friends.” He joked.

“Better watch out, the gays always have something up their sleeves.”

“Man, cute and funny, I think I’m in love.”

   “Thanks…”

“What, do you already have a boyfriend?” I shook my head. “Did he break up with you? Or did he cheat on you? Or you on him?”
