Garrett
Back again. We’re back to the place where we killed Clay, the place where Daemon and I shared our first kiss, the place where Chelsea slapped me. So much stuff happened here. It’s kind of strange to be back though. I’m pretty sure Clay’s body still rested here.
Chris told us there was a garden in the back. So, we could bury Chaoran and Clay’s bodies. I wasn’t going to touch the bodies though. That’s just disgusting.
Aaron pulled up behind us, and him and Eclipse grabbed Chaoran’s body. Chris guided them out back while Valli and Michie went inside to grab Clay’s. Daemon, Chelsea and I sat on the steps waiting for everyone to come back.
At night, this place looked very different, almost pretty. The rubble was dark so you could barely see it, the marbled steps were shining. It really did look beautiful. I leaned over and kissed Daemon on the cheek. This was the place we had our first kiss and I wanted to cherish that.
Michie came out of the building without Valli.
“The body’s gone.” She said, with an alarmed sound.
“What do you mean? It should be in there.” Chelsea turned her head.
“It should be, but it’s not.”
“Well where did it go then?”
“Angelica must’ve taken it.” Chris came around the corner.
“That bitch!” Chelsea cursed her name.
“Chelsea calm down.” Daemon looked at her.
“I will not. I hate her. I always have, and I always will.” She didn’t look at anyone; she just looked straight ahead, at Chris’ run down car. It’s a good thing she didn’t know about Chris’ relationship with Angelica, or else she’d take it all back.
“She’s not that bad.” I said, but I regretted it, Chelsea gave me the death glare.
“Garrett’s right. Now come on everyone, it’s time to say your final goodbyes.” Michie went back in the warehouse to get Valli, while Daemon, Chelsea and I followed Chris.
The garden was gorgeous. It was bright and had rose bushes, and an oak tree, and green grass everywhere. Eclipse and Aaron were crouched by the tree. Chelsea walked over to one of the bushes and took a few roses. Daemon did the same. Daemon had some white roses, while Chelsea had some pink ones. I stopped watching them and focused on the beautiful sight before me.
“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Michie came up behind me.
“It sure is.” Valli answered. “Don’t you think so, Garrett?” I nodded.
“I wish everywhere looked like this.” Michie said.
“That would be amazing. Now come on, we’re about to start our memorial.” Valli said, and grabbed mine and Michie’s hands.
Chelsea and Daemon put the flowers over the spot that Chris, Aaron, and Eclipse put Chaoran. I saw a tear fall from Chelsea and Daemon’s eyes. I felt really bad for them. Though honestly, I didn’t know why Chelsea was crying. I was also surprised that Valli wasn’t crying.
I sat down beside Daemon, and hugged him tight. Chris did the same to Chelsea but she pushed him away. Chelsea really liked being independent. Eclipse walked over to Michie and hugged her, and to my surprise, she let him. And then it was time for the last words. Chelsea started.
“She always said to me, that she liked me the most. But I knew that wasn’t true. She loved Daemon and Valli. She just never would say it.” She looked over at them. “She told me the reason she tried to kill Hellion. She also said that she didn’t want kids. But it wasn’t true. She wanted you guys; she just didn’t know how to take care of you.
“I guess she’s not as bad as we thought she was. She was just trying to get by, like any normal person. Now, um who’s next?” Daemon raised his hand, and then walked over to where we had our make-shift podium.
“When she killed him, I had no idea what was happening. Valli just came into our room, took me and we left. Then Valli left me, and Chelsea found me. Now, none of that’s relevant. But that doesn’t matter. Chaoran wasn’t relevant to me. Chelsea’s parents were the only parents I ever knew. But then she came back, and my life hell. But I still loved her, even if I went through hell.
“I’m really going to miss her. It’s going to be strange not having to worry about her being behind my back.” He looked behind him. “Um, so Valli, I believe it’s your turn.” She walked to the podium.
“I don’t really know what to say. I’m not really sad. I mean I am, but not enough to cry. She was a bitch, and we all know it. So, what’s the point of this? We should be worrying about Hellion. He’s going to come back. And he’s going to go after us. You all know it. Don’t try to hide it.” She walked away and back out front. Aaron followed her. Aaron was like a little puppy, he can’t leave her alone.
“I guess it’s my turn.” I got up. Chris had been silent the whole time, same for Michie, and Eclipse. They didn’t really have a need to talk anyways.
“So, out of us all, she antagonized me the most. She hated me. But I did just walk into Daemon’s life. Any parent would be upset. So, I kind of respect her for that. But she didn’t have to do what she did. And threaten to kill me.
“I miss her, but like Valli said. Hellion’s coming back. There’s no denying it. So, we have to watch out.” I warned everyone, and then walked back to Daemon. I hugged him tightly again. I saw something move in the bush back by the gate to the front. I saw a flash of reddish orange. But I decided not to worry. It was time to worry about what comes next.
Hellion won’t leave us alone. He’s going to take over for Chaoran. So, we have to watch our backs. He’s going to be worse as well. He’s capable of kill Chaoran, so who knows what else he’s capable of doing.
We all got up and walked back to the cars and saw Valli and Aaron standing there. I got in the back of Chris’ car, and fell asleep, dreaming of the party, and the time when Chaoran was alive.
The dream was the first time I met her, being played over and over again. Eventually Chaoran disappeared and Hellion took her place. And it went differently, instead of the words Chaoran said to me, he said something else, he said:
“I’m going to kill you, I’ll leave Daemon alive, and Valli and Chelsea, and everyone else. I’ll only kill you, Garrett. So, good luck trying to escape.”
