"Now that's not fair!" I squeal into the phone, talking to Ellie spinning around in my desk chair.
"It perfectly is fair." She responded, I'll be over at 6 to help you get ready for this date!"
"Fine." I say looking at the time. "I have to go eat breakfast El, Ill call you later." I hang up and see Penny in my door way. Her smile goes wide.
"I'm telling mom!" She yells before turning around and running down the hall her little feet making small patters in the house. I quickly grab her navy blue jumper.
"No your not, or I'll tell mom you stashed candy in your lunchbox." She crosses her arms and stomps her foot causing vibrations to go through the old wood boards.
"Fine." She says upset and walks down the stairs and I follow behind after my mom yelling at us to come down stairs for the 100th time.
"Ah, the stubborn sleeping beauty awakens." My mom says flipping a pancake onto my plate. I stick my tongue out at my mom and sit next to my sister giving her a glare as I sit down seeing if making sure she didn't say anything.
We must have been 5 minutes into into breakfast when my sister had to snitch on me.
"Mom!!!" She screams interrupting my mother mid-sentence. "Quinn has a date tonight and she wanted to keep it a secret but I thought you would like to know." She says in all one breath batting her eyelashes at my mom. I drop my fork and give my mom a small smile.
"First of all, Penny that was not fair to do to your sister. And second of all Quinn! Why didn't you tell and why didn't you want me to know!" She squeals like a teenager with new gossip wanting to tell the whole world.
I get up and place my plate and fork in the sink. Trying to by myself time. My mom and sister don't say anything but stare at me as I sit down. I take a minute and look around the room.
"It was no big deal." I finally say. Closing my eyes as I knew what would be coming out of my mothers mouth next. Knowing I chose the wrong words to say to her.
"No big deal!" She says. Yep I saw this coming. "No big deal? Quinn honey how is this no big deal it's your first time dating!" I roll my eyes and let out a huff of air. She isn't completely wrong. This is the first time. I had a date for the 8th grade dance once but he had to go with me the teacher made him.
"It's just a simple date mom, Ellie will be over in a little bit to help me get ready. So please stop making this a big deal. Please." I say looking up at my mom giving her my puppy dog face.
"Fine." She finally says. I give her a smile and get out of my white bar stool seat at our counter.
"Oh and one more thing mom." Her face lights up. "Penny hides candy in her lunchbox!" I yell running up the stairs so my sister can't hurt me.
"But you love her!" I yell at the TV watching some random show that was on. I hear the door open and slam shut. I think nothing of it, to comfortable in my fuzzy socks and fuzzy blanket. "If your a murder let me know before you kill me!" I yell at whomever just welcomed themselves into my house.
"Quinn!" I hear a loud screech behind me. "What the hell are you doing!" Ellie yells. "We have one hour before your date. Your better get up and take a fucking shower before I drown you for messing up this date!"
"Damn chill." I groan.finally getting up. "What are you my mother?" She smacks my butt as I walk pass her.
"You have 10 minutes!" She yells up at me.
