The Good Bitch

Chapter 6

“Because, June loves you, too. And we promised that we will never love the same girl. But, I realized how stupid I am if I let you go even if I have the upperhand. But, you know, I love you very much. I love you. I love you. That’s all I know.” Then, I noticed a tear that came from his eye as he close his mouth.

But, wait—June... loves me, too?

I can’t say anything. What should I say? Gooosh!

I glance at Leah—who is now squealing softly. I rolled my eyes before I look back to John. He hold my hand and he suddenly kissed the back of it. Heat rises up to my face. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blushing, okay? And I’m not also denying, I’m just explaining.

“Kesha, I love you. How am I suppose to prove that to you?”

He looks sincere and honest. His eyes tell me that I should believe him, with no doubts. But, should I believe him? Well, Leah said that he’s saying the truth. But, for me... obviously, NO. I admit, I only doubt him a little, now. And I only need him to prove me that he is REALLY serious. And probably, a year won’t hurt right?

Leah’s Point of View

I texted our friends to come here at John’s bar. But, obviously, not those who have children and my preggy bestie. Mag-iinuman kasi kami and party party. Ininvite ko din si Clark. Sabi kasi ni kuya, I need to be civil with him kung hindi na nga talaga ako naaapektohan sa kanya.

And just after more or less 15 minutes,  nakarating na sila dito.

“Oh! Anong meron at nagpatawag ang model natin?” tanong ni Cedric.

“Oo nga—Woah! What happened to you, John?” natatawang sabi ni June habang nakatinginin kay John na tahimik na nag-iinom and for you to know, may 5-7 empty bottles sa harap niya. At ‘yan lahat ng naubos niya for 15 minutes.

Tsk. Kung alam mo lang na ikaw ang pinaka-root ng dahilan kung bakit nagkaganyan ‘yan, tignan lang natin kung makatawa ka pa diyan.

“Hahaha! Mukhang broken si John ngayon!” ani Adrian. Sinamaan naman siya ni John ng tingin. “Truth or dare na lang tayo, guys! Para malibang kahit papaano si John!” deklara niya sabay itinaas ang empty bottle ng Pulang Kabayo.

“Sige! Masaya ‘yan!” Seven agreed.

Sabay naghiyawan sila.

“Okay, guys, guys! Gan’to na lang, for every truth, isang punong shotglass ng Fire Whiskey.” dagdag ni June.

Pumayag kami sa rule na dinagdag ni June. Maganda na din ‘yon, gusto ko din kasing malasing ng konti. Bakit? Ewan ko din.

Nagsiupuan na kami at pinaikot na ni Adrian ang bote. Unang tinapatan si June at truth ang pinili niya.

“Truth or dare?” tanong ni Adrian habang nagsasalin ng Fire Whiskey.

“Truth.” maikling sagot ni June.

Inabot ni Adrian ang shotglass kay June. “Sino ang babaeng mahal mo?”

Nabigla ako sa tinanong ni Adrian. Geez, talk about insensitive! Although, alam kong ako lang may alam ng nararamdaman ni John, but ghaad!

Tinignan ko si John. He has stopped drinking and is now looking seriously at June.

“Okay, everybody, ears on me. I wanna say to you guys that I love Kesha and I’m going to court her soon.”

Naghiyawan at palakpakan sila maliban sa akin at kay John. And John is restraining himself by gripping his bottle.

“Speaking of her, where is she?” tanong ni Amber sabay tingin sa ‘kin.
