'Party! And I can have as many pluses as I want!' I read from Kennedy's message.
'Yes! Come over we'll get ready at mine x'
'Already on the way :D x'
I smiled as I rushed to my closet to choose my outfit. It's been so long since I've gone to a party, the last one I went to was a random new year's party that Derek dragged me to. Good drinks, nice music but absolutely rotten people.
I began flinging non-important shirts and skirts around my room just to find something decent to wear, or at least match to what Kennedy's going to wear. Seconds after an unsuccessful huff covered in my many sorts of clothes I heard my doorbell go, knowing that Kennedy would rescue me from this dilemma. I opened my door to see a smiling Kennedy embracing me into a huge hug.
"Oh! It feels like ages since I've seen you" she said in a cheery voice. It felt nice to be in her presence again; after all she is my best friend.
"I know and it's only been like, 3 days" I laughed. She smiled as she moved past me and into the apartment.
"Okay so what's the situation with the party?" I asked.
"House party in Campbell Town" she smiled.
"Campbell Town? Is that even safe?" she rolled her eyes as the smile continued to play on her face.
"Come on, that drug bust was like two years ago!" she explained.
"Yeah and that's a lot of time for drugs to be imported, exported and grown..." I added, she walked over and pulled my hair over both my shoulders/
"I'm going to help you get dressed, and we're gonna go to this party with protection" I squinted in confusion.
"What? Are we going to be those girls who bring narcs to the party?" she shook her head.
"Just a band"

I tugged on my tight skirt feeling a little uneasy as Kennedy linked her arm with mine. "Okay, so you're gonna help me with Luke tonight right?" she asked, I looked to her before giving her a small smile swallowing my guilt.
"Nervous?" she chuckled, I nodded.
"Are you sure you want to go to this party? We could just go back to mine and get into our sweats and watch Pretty Little Liars or something" I didn't feel comfortable going into this party, especially since Kennedy has a track record of leaving me by my self for hours on end.
"No, it's the first time we've been out together in ages!" she whined before she stopped walking to stand in front of me. "I know it's been ages since you've been to a party, I know the stuff with Isabella isn't easy" she whispered. I could hear the music from where we were and it was the kind of music I hated, and I give every genre of music a go before I say that I hate it. "But I know for a fact that she wouldn't want you to stay cooped up in that apartment because of what happened. If it wasn't for the store, you probably wouldn't even leave unless it was for groceries" I went to challenge her on that statement before she gave me a stern look, letting me know that she was right.
"Tonight is your return to the old you. The less careful and more fun you" she smiled as she took my hands into her comforting hold. "Nothing bad will happen tonight, only good will" she reassured with a wider smile. I nodded to her trusting that it will be.

I sat as the smell of alcohol and smoke filled my senses. Kennedy had left me, as expected, but at least she kept me in sight, she was unknowingly flirting with some guy. I don't blame her.
