"Thanks guys!" I smiled as some girls waved on their way out. Having the boys fans in here is fun, the girls are sweet, stylish and absolutely hilarious. I sighed as I lent on the counter with my chin in my hand, this is the most at peace I've felt in a long time. I heard a slight squeal when I looked out the window to see Ashton and Calum. A smile spread across my face as the girls began to calmly freak out. I'm not going to lie, when I meet some of the girls I sometimes think 'Wow, you would be perfect for Ashton/Calum/Michael' and sometimes I meet girls I think are perfect for Luke. My head lifted again just in time to see the two of them walking into the store.

"Hey girl!" Ashton said as he lifted himself onto the counter.

"I heard you got your mug shot taken yesterday" Calum greeted.

"Yeah! they put me in a orange jumpsuit too but then decided it wasn't cool enough, so their saving it for you when you finally screw up" I retaliated.

"Someone's been taking bitchy pills..." he mumbled.

"Save the Big Bang Theory references for when I can handle it" I said as I put my head in my hands.

"Hey..." Calum said, I looked up to him to see sympathy in his eyes "Sorry, I guess I'm not that good at sarcasm sometimes"

"Don't worry I'm on edge anyways" I told him.

"Why?" Ashton asked, at that moment a customer came up I smiled and told the guys to wait in my office as I took care of this one. I scanned all her items and she gave me the perfect amount. My eyes lifted to see a familiar figure coming into the store.

Derek bumped me gently, "I'll take over" I nodded as me and Kennedy made eye contact, it wasn't as harsh as it has been over the past couple weeks but it sure wasn't friendly. I made my way into my office and shut the door leaving a loud thud sound ringing through the office. I didn't even realise how angry I was until I closed the door.

"Shit!" Calum mumbled as he held his chest, "You scared the crap out of me." I ripped off my jacket as my random angry mood change came with a temperature rise.

"Bitch..." I mumbled.

"Pardon?" I heard Ashton say I shook my head and retreated into my shell as I sat at my desk. I lifted on leg up onto the chair and wrapped my arms around it.

"Am I crazy? crazy to think that everything will go back to normal?" I asked not expecting an answer.

"Everything is going back to normal" Ashton said.

"I was in a police station yesterday with a bruised face and a bleeding head. Please explain to me how that is considered normal" His body slumped against my desk as I looked up to the two of them.

"It would be normal for a criminal I guess..." Calum said, I looked up to him "Sorry, I'll shut up"

"I had a fight with my mum yesterday" I confessed.

"What about?"

"Luke..." I glanced up to see confusion on their faces.

"Your mum likes Luke though" Calum said in a confused tone.

"Apparently, his nothing but trouble to her" I shrugged.

"We are talking about the same Luke right?"

"Yep, all the way down to the instagram user-name" I said as I swung on my chair.

Silence wasn't unexpected but it was something I definitely didn't want. "She's overreacting..." I heard Ashton mumble, and I wasn't quite sure if it was a statement or out loud confirmation for something stirring in his head.

"Shannon!" Derek's voice called as my door opened. "I need you to sign for these things out here" he said, I nodded as he disappeared and lifted myself from my seat.

"Can I know something?" Calum asked.

I turned and nodded to him, "If you really want."

"Who won?" he smiled.

The walk to Shannon's door seemed to go quicker then usual. Quicker then I hoped, I still didn't know what I was going to say. I guess I'll know when it falls out of my mouth. My arm lifted to knock on the door when suddenly the door swung open with a disapproved look from Shannon's mum.

"Hi..." I greeted as positively as I could.

"Yes, Luke" she spoke as she crossed her arms over her body. 'Good start, Luke, good start' my mind spoke. I smiled hoping to receive one and lighten the conversation but right now her facial expression is almost as solid as stone. "I just wanted to apologise for last night, I never intended to begin a fight between you two"

"A little late for that isn't it?" she bit back.

"Pardon?" I said in surprise. At least I know where Shannon gets her temper from sometimes.

"You walk into my daughters life with your good looks and high end job, only to mess it up and leave her confused and lost. Not to mention bruised and bleeding."

I felt like I was getting in trouble by a harsher version of my own mother. "I never intended to do anything to her" I told her.

"Yes, but now I need to go down to the police station and talk to someone about all this because of a fight between Shannon and her best friend over you" She took a step forward as I seemed to flinch backwards. She locked the door then refocused on the conversation, "Shannon has changed, I won't deny that but I know my baby is still in there. And I intended to get her back" she spoke as if it was more of a promise then a warning.

"I love her" I blurted out.

I watched as her facial muscles softened for a millisecond then returned to her hard exterior.

"Don't come back here" she said. "Don't make me lose the only thing I have left"

Without another word. I lifted my feet and walked the other way.
