“Hmmm… the simplicity of the little black dress” I heard Kennedy say as she smiled to me through the mirror.
I laughed at her as she walked over and fixed her makeup, “And I see you pulled out your floral swimsuit” she hip bumped me to the side laughing.
“I give you a compliment and you practically call me a slut?” I nodded.
“You can see what you had for breakfast in that dress” she shook her head at me.
“What the hell does that mean?”
“It means that the dress is so short that you could nearly see your hoochie chooch” I laughed before swiping mascara over my lashes.
“Hmm, do you think Luke will see it?” she winked at me through the mirror. I felt a lump in my throat before I smiled back, “You’ve been spending a lot of time with them. Has Luke said anything? Like, about me?”
‘Between all the kisses we’ve shared I don’t think his had enough time to talk about you’ I thought.
“No, not from what I can remember” I shook my head applying some bronzer to my face. “Has he said anything to you?” she sighed as she turned to me. I combed back through my memory trying to find something that Luke has said, but the only thing I can remember is him saying that Kennedy ‘didn’t get him’ and that she never ‘had him’. “I think he said that you were really hot once” I lied. The shyest smile spread across her face, giving her already covered cheeks another shade of pink. I sighed mentally as I turned away from her reflection and picked up my lip balm.
“I know that you talk to the boys a lot. You’ve spend a lot of time with them and I think you know a lot about them…” I was curious to see where this was going.
“I still really like Luke.” her fingers played with my blush brush as she swiped it across her fingertips.
“Don’t do that. You’ll touch your dress and complain you got pink blush all over it” I told her taking away the brush.
“What does he like?” she asked.
“He likes cartoons and his guitar” I said plainly as I applied my lip balm.
“Ahaha…” she sarcastically laughed “you know what I mean, what does he like in a girl?” she pressed on.
I felt so guilty and about ready to leave the conversation. Because not only is Kennedy interrogating me about Luke, she interrogating me about a guy I have deep feelings for and apparently so does she. I knew she did, I knew she liked him and I continuingly went out with him, freely kissed him and embraced him more than I care to mention to her.
“We haven’t really talked about that sort of stuff. We mainly just talk about clothes and music.” I lied. The truth is I don’t know what he likes in a girl but from what his told me what he likes in a girl is me.
She gave me a pleading look. I sighed caving in; “I guess he likes subtly, girls who aren’t too flashy” she looked down to her dress.
“Well… we’re going to a club I’m allowed to dress like this” she waved it off before applying more eyeliner. I sighed leaning against my wardrobe “Why aren’t you wearing heels?” she questioned, I shrugged looking down at my black strappy sandals.
“I’ll be dancing, I don’t want to be limping around tomorrow at work” she looked to me before twisting her blonde curly hair.
“But you’ll be an amazing boss and give me the morning off?” she said hopefully.
I rolled my eyes, “I’ll be waiting in the kitchen” I told her.
“Shannon!” I turned back to her “Can you give me any advice?” I shook my head as a slightly scoffed to myself.
