My head bopped along to the radio as the boys new single played through the speakers. A smile spread across my face at the sound of their voices. I'm so proud of them, they made it. I mean, they made it.

"Your lipstick stain is a work of art" I sang along as I opened the fridge door. "And I know now, that I'm so down" the radio played as I grabbed a few bottles of water.

"Is that them?" I heard a voice ask. I turned to see my mum with a small smile on her face, looking towards the radio.

I nodded, "Yeah, it's their first official single" I smiled.

"Their good" she complimented. I turned back and put the bottles of water into the basket along with a few carefully wrapped sandwiches.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"I baked the boys some things, so we decided to have a picnic for fun" I told her.

Silence surrounded us as Calum's solo played, "Why?" I asked curiously turning around. She shook her head.

"Nothing" she said.

"What's wrong?" I asked, she shook her head.

"It's nothing" she repeated, I walked over and stood beside her. "I was just hoping that we could talk today" she admitted.

"We can talk now" I told her.

She shook her head once more, "I was hoping for the whole day" she said.

"I can call the guys and tell them I can't have the picnic today, they'll understand" she placed her hand on my arm.

"Don't blow them off. We can always talk later" she said.

"Mum, something's obviously bothering you"

Her fingers ran through the ends of my hair, "You look pretty today" she complimented. Her voice indicated that her mind was in another world, and the look in her eyes told me something was wrong.

"Go, we can talk about this later"

"Where did you learn how to bake?" Calum asked taking a bite out of his third biscuit.

"My aunt, she has a special recipe. I can give it to you" I told him, he nodded in agreement. I watched as Michael's hand went to grab a cookie before I slapped it away.

"Hey! he got another one!" he debated.

"Luke isn't here yet! Save some for him" I said.

"He's your boyfriend, he can get them whenever he wants" Michael complained.

"He can get it whenever he wants now" Calum mumbled.

I rolled my eyes as Indie walked across the mat and in my direction. I smiled as I held out my hand before she nudged it with her nose and licked it.

"Where's Lucas?" Ashton asked. I shrugged as I petted Indie, his not usually this late. I picked up my phone and pressed the home button, only for a message from Luke to fade onto my screen.

'Hey babe x I'm sorry I'm not coming, I don't feel up to it today. I think you should talk to your mum. I talk to her yesterday before she met you at the police station and I think you should talk to her. After you do, call me and we can talk about London. Love you x'

"Was it Luke?" A voice asked.

I sighed as I lowered my arm. I left my mum emotional and alone in my apartment and Luke doesn't show up because he does 'feel up to it'. I want him here, I need him here. I made him his favourite cookies and wanted to show him a new t-shirt design. I guess I shouldn't be angry, I mean I've ditched him for much less in the past. But it feels weird without him here now.
