I bopped in time with the music as I took a sip of my drink. I haven’t had one moment to myself so far, either one of them, two of them or all of them are around me. I didn’t mind, I mean they’re my friends and they care about me. I’d do what they are if I was a guy, especially around Kennedy because the amount of male attention she gets she would need a bodyguard.

“Do you want another drink?” Ashton spoke in my ear over the loud music.

I nodded, “Sprite and vodka” I replied.

He shot me a look with a slight smile, “Sprite” I corrected. He shook his head before he left the booth with Michael. Luke slid next to me before slipping his hand into mine. Calum had gone and was dancing with Kennedy and some other girl; he looked as if he was enjoying it.

I felt my phone vibrate.

‘I really want to kiss you’ I read. I smiled before I sent back the little monkey emoji that’s covering its eyes.

I looked to him as he saw the message. He shot me a shy smile before bring up my hand and kissing it, I felt my cheeks heat up as I flipped my hair out of my face.

“You look really pretty tonight” he spoke closely to my ear. The close proximity of our lips made me want to kiss him but the meters that stood between Kennedy and I made me do otherwise. Never the less I blushed at his words before saying back “You don’t look too bad yourself” I began tousling my hair in a calm manner before placing a kiss on his cheek.

I watched as his cheeks turned a light shade of pink. I liked how I could do that to him, turn him shy, and make him blush. “Your drink” Ashton spoke placing my new cup in front of me. I thanked him before I took a sip from the cup.

I felt Luke’s thumb run across the top of my knuckled in a comforting action. I watched as Kennedy smiled as waved to us, my heart raced as I quickly released our hands and waved back to her. I turned to a confused Luke before apologising.

“I just don’t want her to see” he sighed at my words, letting me know he wasn't too happy.

I knew he didn’t like the fact that I’m hiding him from Kennedy and at the same time letting her be all over him and not fighting for him.

Believe me, it’s hard holding back these emotions when I’m with Luke. It’s even harder when I’m with Kennedy. Not being able to tell your best friend that you’ve found the most amazing, glorious, perfect guy with a heart of gold and a better than words can explain personality because she has feelings for him too would have to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I checked to see if Kennedy was looking, I cheered to myself as she had her back turned to me. I gripped Luke’s hand once again before he looked to me; I rushed forward pressing my lips against his. I felt him smile underneath the kiss. His hand caressed my cheek when I felt someone hit my arm, I pulled away to see Michael gripping my other arm and pulling me out of the booth.

“What?” I asked. He nodded towards figures moving to the booth when I realised it was Kennedy and Calum, “Thanks” I said.

“I know he means something to you” he said over the music, “Just warn me when you’re going to have a make out session with him, Kennedy could have caught you” he ordered, I nodded understanding what he means.

“Come on!” I heard Kennedy’s voice say as she pulled me towards the dance floor. I gave Michael a small wave as he walked back to the booth. Kennedy and I began dancing together when moments later she pulled me in closer.

“Do you like Michael?” she asked. I shook my head.

“Just friends” I told her. She nodded with the ‘I don’t believe you but okay’ look.
