You Chose Mine

Chapter 2

I sat behind the counter staring at my phone. Waiting for something to pop up. Something, just anything. So when my phone began to buzz my heart nearly jumped out of my chest only for it to be Kennedy.

"Hello" I answered.

"Hi girly, what are you up to today?" she asked, Kennedy would have to be my best friend. She is also a model for the store and also someone who helps me with my designs so we collaborate a lot.

"Um, just hanging out at the store" I replied. As much as I love Kennedy I don't want her here when Luke comes. I want at least a chance to talk to him without Kennedy butting in with 'I'm a model' every few minutes and recounting her experiences with modelling.

"Oh, cool! I might stop by soon" she said.

"No" I replied too fast.

"What?" I face palmed myself, now she'll want to come down more than ever.

"I mean, don't you have an audition or something?" there was no use saving myself from that slip up. I knew she would want to come see me now and odds are she's wearing a pair of her shorts that show off her perfectly tanned legs, her makeup done flawlessly, her blonde hair smooth and sleek, and freshly whitened smile ready for Luke to fall in love with.

Damn it.

Business was a little slow right now, but it is only 11 in the morning. It usually picks up closer to 3 when school lets out. "So, I'm coming now is there anything you want me to pick up?" she asked, I groaned silently before asking for a chocolate Frappuccino. I hung up and went on tumblr again hoping for time to past faster.

I read on a text post. I sighed as I reblogged it mumbling to myself 'I feel that', when suddenly a text notification popped up in front of me

'On my way :) I saved some pics of the ones I want'

My stomach began to twist and twirl as I opened the message.

'Today's a little slow so you shouldn't have any hassle from anyone :)'

'Maybe I can stay a little longer then'

A grin stretched across my face before I locked my phone. The began dancing along to the background music I always have playing as I put out more clothing pieces and set things in there correct places. I love my job, I really do; I spend my entire day surrounded by clothes I love while listening to music I love with some of the best employees I could ever ask for. But, considering today is today I asked them all to come in at 2:30 because I can control the store until then and they all happily took the sleep in. There's only one person I can truly thank for this store being the way it is.

'Cause I'm on top of the world hey!' I danced along to as I spun in between the racks clapping my hands along to song.

"This is my kind of store" I heard a voice say, I turned to see Luke smiling from the entrance.

"Hey" I smiled as I walked over, "Sorry, I just really love the song" I said.

"It's alright, it looked like you were having fun" he smiled imitating my clapping while he spun. I shook my head as I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Come on, I'll show you around"

"I think it's cool you have some stuff for our fans" I smiled as he grabbed one of the 5SOS shirts.

"Yeah, I love the lyrics to 'Beside You' so I sort of just slapped them onto a muscle tee" 'ticket to another world' I love that line. "Any shirts with your lyrics on them sell really well" I added.
