ALEX'S POV.

Living in Los Angeles, pretty much sucks if you live by yourself. See, the thing is, my parents want me to go to some big shot university, but i have my own set of dreams. Right now, i take college courses online, and work at a nearby bookstore. I have maybe one friend who lives in LA, but thats all. No family, whatsoever. Im from a small town in Florida that probably no one has heard of. Moving away from all of my friends and family was a tough decision, but hopefully it all works out.

I get up every morning, do the exact same thing, my life is a bit boring. I want to live a little. I look at the time and realize its 7:17, and i planned to go to some music shop before it got too dark. Here, in LA, when its daylight savings time, 7 pm could look like 10 pm. I walked to a local music shop to look for some new music and for some sheet music, but nothing really caught my eye.

"Hello there, is there anything I can help you with?" his accent was a little deep. I turned around to face a guy, maybe a  year older than me.

"Um, nope, just looking around, thanks," I quickly walked away, maybe a little too fast.

"Looking for anything in particular?" Great, and now he's following me.

"Nope, um, not to be rude, but are you new here? I've been coming here every weekend for the past few months and never seen you here."

"Yeah, i just moved here last week, my uncle owns this place. It's quite nice actually." There was something about him, the way he talked that sort of intrigued me.

"Oh, that's pretty cool, I guess," I picked up an Arctic Monkeys cd off the shelf, reading the back of it.

"The monkeys? You like 'em?" Will he not just leave me alone, for now?

"Theyre alright."

"Alright? Theyre amazing, theyre new stuff is better than theyre old music." yeah no.

"I perfer the old albums to the new one."

"Ha, yeah, of course you do," what?

"Yeah, I'm gunna get going, its a bit late, see you around." I said making my way to the door.

"My shift is over, can I walk you home?" He asks shyly.

"No, its fine, its a fifteen minute walk." I really want to walk alone, i just met the kid. I dont even know his name.

"Yeah, its late, and I really dont want you walking alone, come on. Just let me get my stuff from the back, wait here." Great. I think of just walking out by myself, but it is a little dark and walking alone in LA is not so safe. I usually dont take the time to talk to people at stores and stuff, but i am in need of a friend. But then again, I dont know who he is. All I know, is that he's just some good looking kid working at a record shop.
