Playing Detective

"Whoa, Cole. What's wrong?" Jess asked with great concern.

"Dalton is a.........a -," Cole couldn't muster up the right word to describe Dalton right now.

"What did he do?" Mel said setting down her lunch tray on the table and sitting on the other side of Cole.

"That night we went to the club, I'm 85 percent sure he drugged me or something. He's a dick." Cole said kicking the table. "I can't believe I ever trusted him or even started liking him in the first place."

Mel looked down at her plate of food and gave Cole her cinnamon bun.

"Here, you need this more than I do." Mel said trying to comfort him when she suddenly realized a variable from that night."Jess stay with Cole, I have to go check something out."

"Wait, Mel. Where are you going?" Cole said in a voice filled with sadness.

"To do some business, C-Note. I'll be back in a little while." Mel said trotting over to Dalton's lunch table.

Mel marched over to the girls from the night at the club, Lea and Eva

"Hey girls, can I talk to you for a second?" Mel chimed in her most girly voice.

"Sure!" They responded, sounding way too peppy.

"Okay, I'm going straight to the point what happened to Cole on night we went clubbing?" Mel said cutting off her girly charade.

"What do you mean?" Eva said as if she had a bubble for a brain.

"Cut the crap ladies. I know you were only there to make sure I didn't get in Dalton's way. Now tell me what he did to Cole?!?" Mel almost yelled at them.

"Dalton didn't do anything to Cole." Lea stated simply looking at her nails as if the conversation was boring her to death.

"What do you mean? If he didn't do anything, who did?" Mel inquired look confused.

"We did. Dalton obviously likes Cole, either that or he's looking for Cole to join the group but either way, we helped him." Eva piped still bubble brained about the whole situation.

"How did you help him?" Mel questioned her eyes thinning at the two stupid girls in front of her.

"We spilled a little extra something into Cole drink. We thought he'd be the crazy seductive type and just start loving Dalton. We were just trying to speed up Dalton's plan to Cole to like him or whatever," Lea said this so calmly as if it was no big deal. It bugged Mel so much how they could just do that and blow it off.

"You're telling me that you two drugged Cole to speed up playing Cupid!" Mel was just shouting at them now.

Mel stomped over to Dalton and started yelling at him.

"What the hell, Dalton?! I've seen you work hard at an alternative before but never so far as to have your two bubble brain cupids drug someone! How low are you?" Mel yelled at him until he put a hand over her mouth.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into the darkness corner of the lunchroom.

"Mel, shut the hell up! Let me talk!" He breathed out.

"Fine but you have 3 minutes to explain before I swift kick you in the balls." Mel said, putting her arms over her chest defensively

"I have no clue what you're talking about, I didn't send anyone to drug Cole. I know I done stupid shit in the past but this time it's different. I'm completely lost here, I have no clue what going on," explain Dalton with a very stupid and confused look on his face.

"Wait, what? You don't know what going on?" Mel said shocked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"No clue," Dalton sighed while running his hand through his hair.

"Lea and Eva just told me that they put something extra in Cole's drink to help you two get 'closer'. You're telling me that-" Mel was going to continue but Dalton cut her off by rushing over to Lea and Eva.

"Lea, Eva! You are imbeciles. You wrecked my chance for Cole to like me." Dalton said calmly as Mel made her way back over to him

"What!? you said you wanted him to follow you around like a loves truck puppy or whateva." Lea responded holding her phone in her hand like some prima Donna.

"Okay, okay. Obviously you two are stupid and you weren't listen. Just leave me alone and ruin somebody else's school experience for the rest of the year." Dalton said sighing getting heavier and heavier as if he was going to cry.

Why was he so angry anyways?Cole didn't like him and he was alternative. Whatever.
