The classes rolled by each building suspense till the final bell rang for another school day ending.

At lunch Jess sat with Mel waiting for Nick, Peter and Cole to sliding in and sit with them.

The promise that Jess was told to keep by Dalton was tearing her apart, she wanted to tell Mel but she didn't want to betray Dalton's vulnerable state.

As the boys entered, Cole absent-mindedly starts doodling on his book again but this time he scribbles fancy cursive words under the heart: "Why do we keep doing this?"

"Cole." Nick says as he waves his hand in front of Cole's face.

"Ah, what." Cole responds coming out his dream like state.

"Are you okay?" Nick asks, looking at Cole's mess notebook cover.

"Yeah, well I got get to my locker so see ya guys," says Cole as he begins walking of, waving at his friends.

On his way to his locker he keeps doodling but this time he draw a swimmer diving into water.

All of a sudden he bumps into Andy and Hunter, scattering his book on to the floor.

"Hey, watch where you're going next time," Andy says gently, picking up Cole's notebook of the floor. "Hey, that's pretty cool. I like the swimmer."

Hunter peers over Andy's shoulder and his attention is automatically directed at the heart.

Hunter gives Cole a slight glance. Cole is timid and shy and......blushing ever so lightly.

Cole takes his book from Andy hastily. "Oh, thanks but they're really nothing just some stupid doodles. And the swimmer was sort of supposed to be me, it's stupid. Now I really have to go!" He is kind of afraid of Andy and Hunter, knowing that they associate with Dalton just makes him worried.

"K, dude," says Andy waving Cole down the hallway as Cole makes drastic turns around corners to get out of sight of Dalton's friends.
