Cole grabbed his phone to take his mind of things, only to check his text notifications to see a message from Dalton from a couple day ago.

Dalton: I want you to know I didn't drug you! Can we talk about this?

Cole felt pang of something, making him feel bad for everything. Why did he care so much? He and Dalton became pretty good friends but they weren't best friends. And yes, maybe there were those sparked moments between them, creating the tiniest butterflies but after Peter things got weird.

Cole: I know.

Cole wasn't expecting it but immediately after Dalton texted him back.

Dalton: Oh so now you believe me :€

Cole: I'm sorry I didn't believe you at first. Cole texted back trying to seem sympathetic.

Dalton: Whatever

Cole: You still betrayed me!

Dalton: You know what, I have to go. So, bye!

That was the extent of their conversation. Cole trying to apologize and Dalton just not caring. What was going on?
Cole drifted to sleep just think about what tomorrow would hold.

~Next Morning~

Cole rushing towards the lockers cuz he's late for class. He accidentally goes to his old locker instead of his new one.

"Don't you know you switched locker, you idiot." Dalton chimed from down the hallway.
Great, Cole thought. Just more for him to deal with today.

"Shut up, Dalton! I'm not having the best day so leave me alone!" Cole replied angrily.

"Whoa, testy! Who tied your panties? No wonder your friends were mad yesterday." Dalton retorted with a smirk on his face.

"Whatever." Cole snapped at Dalton heading to his new locker.

"Okay," replied Dalton with the same, maybe even more amount of sass.

Cole grabbed his books and went off to his next class.

Dalton couldn't help but feel as he should apologize to Cole, given that it was his fault Cole's friends were mad at him.
