~Following Monday, 2nd period~
Cole rushed to retrieve his books from his new locker passing Dalton talking to Spencer (the previous locker owner).
Cole almost felt sorry for him, Spencer had no clue what he was getting into but Cole was just glad it wasn't him anymore.
Dalton made brief eye contact with Cole, delaying his conversation with Spencer.
Dalton glared, rolled his eyes down at the floor and smiled, talking to Spencer again.
You could say Dalton was irritated but that would be a bit of an understatement.
He was sick of this, he was sick of Cole. He couldn't take it! He was sick of fucking up everything! He was sick of falling for Cole, he hated everything.
Cole didn't give two shit though. He was just going to try and get by with out getting involved with Dalton again.
Which would proved to be kind of hard given their schedules but Cole had a plan.
~At Lunch~
"Cole! You little shit," yelled Mel as she made her way over to their group's lunch table.
"What." Cole said grudge fully turning to look at her.
"Okay, Cole, what the hell is wrong with you?" Jess jumped into the conversation before anyone could talk.
"What," he replied in the same form but pulling back a little.
"You've been acting weird, and distant," Jess explained only to be interrupted by Mel adding "and don't forget pissy."
"I have not!" Cole slightly yelled defensively. He really didn't want to talk about this. "Can we drop this conversation."
"Not until you tell me why you're like this," suggested Mel cocking one eyebrow.
"No!" Cole just full out yelled, getting up to quickly to leave.
Mel immediately took out the content of her pocket, leaped on Cole and pinned his clothing down to the table with a pen and a bobby-pin.
"Listen, here, Cole Alan Pendery! You are going to explain every last detail of what's bugging you before I decide to let you go runoff anywhere! Got that!"
Mel yelled as she stabbed Cole's sleeve with the pen.
Cole was now cowering in front of everybody. He didn't know Mel could do that. Everyone was looking at him and Mel even Dalton from across the lunchroom.
"Nothing to see, you pigeons!" Jess exclaimed, "get back to your day to day lives."
Everyone did as Jess had said, all except one. One blonde boy on the other side of the lunchroom.
"Okay, I'll tell you." Cole said in a shaky voice as Mel back away from him.
"On Friday in Arts class, Dalton partnered up with me for this thing. I didn't want to be his partner but our teacher insisted. We were to present an argument but instead of doing as he was told, surprise, surprise, Dalton thought it would be fun if he discussed the morning after the clubbing incident with me instead. He was bent on telling me that he didn't do anything and that I was the one to come on to him. I mean yeah I thought he was kind of cute and nice but I wouldn't go that far. He told me that his stupid girlfriends, Eva and Lea fucking drugged me and he took me to his house for protection and that I should ask you. I thought he was bullshitting this stuff because of all the things he said and did to, not only you but to everyone of you guys, then he dared to tell me I was being unfair for not giving him the benefit of the doubt. I just couldn't handle that anymore, he was being such a fucking douche! I just... couldn't handle the hurt of him betraying me like that and think that I would just...just," Cole tailed off from his thought, his voice shaky, at a lost for what he really wanted to say.
Was he mad or just sad that Dalton thought he wouldn't like him if his friends got in the way?
Mel stood there in shock as she witnessed Cole's eyes begin to glisten with tears.
Cole ripped the pen out of his shirt sleeve and ran off.
Jess, Mel, Nick and even Peter sat there in shock as they let all that Cole had just said fester in their brains.
