It had been two weeks since her interesting weekend with Liam. In that time Rowen had been keeping herself busy with work, she didn't do it to avoid Liam, on the contrary she wanted to spend as much time with him as she could. However she didn't really have a choice on when she could see Liam.

He had explained it to her in detail, well as much detail as Liam could tell her, that he would be busy for a while. He was trying to get as much men as he could on his side so his transition to Mafia Don was a simple process. Of cause that meant kissing ass, or kicking it depending on the men he was trying to convince. He needed to get his father out of the top spot, according to Liam his father was losing his mind, in the literal sense.

Rowen had seen the pain in Liam's eyes when he told her a little about his father's descent into madness. She had wanted to ask him what had happened to make him so sad, but she had stopped herself, thankfully Liam gave her small details. Drug abuse was the main one, but he had also told her that he had cheated on his wife multiple times, and had started abusing everyone.

Rowen knew there was more to it, if she was right, then Liam's father had started to abuse his wife, Liam's mother. She didn't want to think that he could do that, but his words in the email, and the things that Liam had told her about didn't make it any easier to think anything good about the man that helped create Liam.

On the times that she did see Liam he was exhausted, she could see the strain that this was taking on him and she hated that she couldn't help him.

She knew that he had actually listened to her when she had spoken about how he treated her when she stayed with him. Most of their time was spent relaxing together in front of the fire, and as much as Rowen had missed having him being intimate with her, seeing the pressure that was sitting on him made her think of making his time with her as stress free as she could.

So she made sure that she had the fire going, a bottle of wine open and airing and soft soothing music playing for when he came over. If it was early enough, she would cook him a meal, something that she had found out he loved more than anything, a home cooked meal. She had bought cookbooks that were filled with Italian food.

She will never forget the look on his face when she set down a plate of Pasta Carbonara. Apparently his Grandmother used to make it for him on a sunday. She quickly found out Liam's favourite foods, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Pizza Margarita. And pretty much anything that could be bought in Italy.

She had giggled when he said he was going to take her to meet his mother and grandmother. She didn't want to think about the possibility of meeting the most important women in Liam's life.

Rowen had been trying to keep herself from thinking that Liam would be in her life forever. She wanted to keep thinking of it as a day to day thing, if she started thinking of their relationship as a long term thing, she would get too invested.

She knew that thinking that way made her sound cold. Rowen had never had good luck with her relationships. From the time she noticed boy's until the time she had her first heartbreak, she went for boy's with issues. Her first high school crush had strung her along for years, making sure to give her attention when no one was looking and then go back to ignoring her when they were. She knew he was being an ass, but that didn't stop her from crushing on him, even convincing herself that she was in love with the douchebag.

Her first boyfriend happened when she turned eighteen, she was one of the few girls that she had gone to school with that had managed to leave high school with her virginity in tact. Her first boyfriend was an older boy, he seemed sweet at first, so six months into their relationship, after doing everything with each other bar sex, she decided to give him her virginity. The night didn't end well, her boyfriend got drunk, didn't believe that she was a virgin and had very little concern as to how much it hurt her or if she was enjoying it or not. She had wanted to break up with him after the second time they had sex, where she bled like it was her first time he was that rough with her. He turned into an abusive man who had eyes on her at all times, in the end the relationship didn't reach its first year before she found him cheating on her.
