Chapter 43

One of my men laid dead on the floor next to me.
His decapitated head only centimeters away from my foot.

I felt bad for him, he would have to start again from scratch, I guess he could re-join the guild but there is no way he can catch up to the squad and re-join.

"So you have come here to challenge us!!?" Re-yelled the Snork leader.

"Yes I have!!" I nearly shouted. My entire squad looked at me shocked.
The Snork looked angry If not, slightly amused.
I turned intangible again and the ropes around my hands and feet fell to the ground.
The Snorks got out their weapons ready to strike, but the Snork held up his hand halting them.

I walked straight up to the Snork who is slightly taller than me.
"I, Ben the leader of the Nights Men, challenge you to a battle to the death"

The slight, cocky smile fell from the Snorks face. I bet not many people show him up like that, considering the reputation Snorks have.

The Snork stood tall trying to intimidate me. "Challenge excepted" growled the creature.

---------1 hour later -------

I don't know what it was, but the vibe I was getting off the Snork leader was making me nervous. It was like I could almost feel an aura of power radiating from the creature that stood before me.

Wait!
He is a boss!
What type of boss? I had no clue but I knew this wasn't going to be an easy fight.

The Snork boss had given me an hour to prepare for our battle, in that time I had borrowed one of the swordmans new armor because it is so much better than my own.

The boss stepped into the large circle of Snorks acting as an arena.

To my surprise, the boss didn't wield an axe or a club like most of the Snorks I've seen. The boss held two thin blades that I could tell could do some damage.

I pulled out my usual sword and shield remembering the invisible shield I still have strapped to my back.

A horn was blown and the boss rushed me.
He striked down at me with both swords but I blocked it with my shield.
He striked down again but this time one of the blades came from the sides.
The blade stuck into my side drawing a lot of blood.

I winced in pain. Drop kicking him away, I retreated to the edge of the Snork circle.
Blood still pored from my wound.
Challenge rules say I can't use healing potions, so I have to end this fight before this one wound kills me.

He sprinted at me really fast, striking at my head with both swords.
I only managed to duck and I riled away from the boss.

The boss now stood over the dead body of the Snork that was standing behind me. Aha.

I had gathered that he was the lowest type of boss, but to win this fight... I'll need to use my secret weapon...
