I woke up and my mind was fuzzy. I couldn't remember anything that had happened or how I had gotten to the safe room. As soon as I opened my eyes I was tackled into a hug by Jack, Merida and Rapunzel.

"What happened?" I asked pushing Jack away from me.

"The rebels attacked." That explained why we were in the safe room. "You didn't come so Jack and Mer brought you here safely. You were drugged."

"Els I'm so glad you are okay. If you want to leave the competition I completely understand." I cut him off.

"You saved me?" I questioned and he nodded. He stared at the ground not knowing what to say. I sat up and hugged him. "I'm not going anywhere." Even after everything he put me through I still wanted to be with him. I still felt safe in his arms. He was my knight in shining armor.

"It was a team effort." I heard Merida mumble. Punzie elbowed her. "Just saying." I laughed at my friends my arms still wrapped around Jack.

"Thank you." I said to both of them. Merida smirked then stuck her tongue out at Punzie who rolled her eyes in response.

"Did my parents notice we left?" Jack asked Rapunzel.

"Yes. They did." Jacks eyes went wide as he turned around to face his parents who had stern looks on their faces.

"Jackson what were you thinking? Risking your life? And the life of a selected?" His father started scolding quietly enough that only the six of us were able to hear.

"Father I was careful." Jack replied.

"That's not the point. We could have sent guards to get her. Not the Prince of Burgess!" The king continued.

"Da-"

"No buts Jackson ruling the kingdom must be your priority! These girls are to be companions not distractions."

"Father I'm sorry I will think it through next time."

"There better not be a next time." The queen escorted her husband away.

"Sorry about that ladies." Jack sighed. I knew he was embarrassed that we had witnessed that but he shouldn't have been. We were all friends.

"Its okay Jack. We're here for you." I smiled. He stared into my eyes. I wanted to kiss him. If we were alone I would have, but the circumstances were not ideal.

"Thank you. I should go check on everyone else. I will see you later." He said before standing up, plastering on a smile and walking away.
