It was the middle of the night after the report when the alarms went off. I woke up and was pushed into the tunnel that led to the safe room. I followed it into the hidden safe room where the Royals and selected were hiding. I sat down beside Rapunzel and together we waited for Elsa to come.

Jack was making his way around the room checking on all of the selected. Time passed and Elsa still wasn't in the room with us. I started to get worried.

"Punz what if she's in danger?" I blurted out.

"Mer you can't think like that. Maybe she's in a different safe room." Rapunzel said. I knew she wasn't convinced but one of us had to be optimistic and it sure as hell wouldn't be me.

"What if the rebels got her?" I gulped.

"Merida. She's okay." Punzie snapped. I could tell she was scared.

Jack walked over and sat down beside Punzie.

"How are you?" He asked us. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a corner away from Punz.

"Elsa's missing." I whispered.

"What?" His eyes went wide as he looked around the room and realized I was right.

"Is there another safe room? Anywhere else she could be?"

"Not any that are connected to her room." Jack ran his hands through his hair. "I have to make sure she's okay." Jack started to move towards the safe room door.

"Jack stop. You can't just go running out there alone. Especially with your parents right there." I snapped. He sighed.

"Mer I have to go she could be in danger." I could see the desperation in his eyes.

"Fine but I'm going with you. And Punz will distract your parents so we can sneak out. By the time they notice we're gone it will be too late." I explained.

"Merida there's no way I'm taking you out there with the rebels."

"I'm not letting the prince of Burgess go out there unprotected. Either we go together or no one goes." I stated.

"Fine." He groaned. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him back to Punzie.

"Punz can you distract the king and queen? We're going to sneak out and find Elsa. Thanks." She rolled her eyes but didn't protest as I thought she would. She stood up and started walking towards Jacks parents.

"Be careful." She said before starting a conversation with the royals. I turned to Jack and he nodded a confirmation before we both headed to the door. We made sure no one was looking before we snuck into the tunnel. It was dark so we could barely see. We came to a fork in the tunnel.

"That one leads to my room." I pointed to one of them. He nodded in understanding.

"So that one must be Elsa's." He pointed to a different one. I agreed and we walked to the end of the tunnel.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Ready." As we opened the door I prayed we wouldn't find Elsa's body on the other side. We walked into her room and I immediately caught sight of her platinum blonde hair. She was asleep.

"How on earth did she sleep through that Damn alarm?" I blurted.

"She didn't." I looked up to see a rebel pointing a gun at Jack. I moved and stood in front of him.

"Mer what are you doing?" He whispered in my ear.

"Your life is worth more than mine and if you die it will be all my fault." I explained.

"That's not true." He protested but I pushed him out of the way behind the bed.

"Go." I said to the rebel.

"Why would I listen to you when I'm the one with the gun? " He snapped.

"Because the only thing you'll get out of killing me is a target on your back and the title of murderer. Killing me isn't going to bring you any closer to your cause. If you walk away then you walk away a free man. If you don't you won't make it out of the castle doors alive." The man dropped his gun and backed out of the room. Jack stood up and took Elsa in his arms.

"They drugged her." He realized. He carried her through the tunnel. As we made it, he spoke to me.

"Mer what you did back there, that was really brave."
