As soon as Elsa finished explaining I got up and stormed out of the room. "Merida please don't do anything stupid." She called after me.

"We both know I'm going to do something stupid and nothing you say will change it!" I yelled back. I could tell she was going to protest but she knew it would be no use. I made my way to Jacks room and banged on the door. It was opened by a guard. He came out of the room.

"Miss please go back to your own room the prince wishes to be alone." The guard said to me. It was the same guard who brought me from home.

"I don't give a Damn what the prince wants. Either you let me in that room or I twist you into a pretzel and break in." He stared at me in shock.

"Miss I really can't let you in there. Please don't turn me into a pretzel." He shielded himself with is arms. It was kinda cute how he was so afraid of me.

"Listen to me, Hiccup." I started reading my name tag. "Jack hurt my friend and I have a lot of pent up anger right now. Either I take it out on you or him. And he's probably a lot safer because he's a prince." I threatened.

"How about I walk away and you sneak in? Then I don't get fired."

"Deal." A wide grin spread across my face.

"While we're speaking off the record I just wanted to say you're really cute when you smile." He smiled. I felt myself blush so I turned around. "I'll be back in five minutes. Please be gone when I get back."

"No promises." I smirk before opening the door. I close it before Hiccup could protest.

"Merida what are you doing here?" He said standing up trying to look intimidating.

"Sit down and shut up." I snapped.

"Merida I am a prince. You can't speak to me like that!"

"Yeah you're a prince who tried to rape one of my friends so either you sit down or I make you sit. " I threatened. He sat down in silence. "What the hell is wrong with you?!?" I yelled.

"I've been asking myself the same question for the past hour." He said letting his head fall into his hands.

"No. No no no no no. I'm not giving you any sympathy so stop that right now." I snapped.

"I'm sorry. Vanessa made me so mad with all the lies. I'm such an idiot for believing her."

"Yes. Very very stupid." I agreed.

"Please help me." He pleaded.

"Jack you really hurt her. You're going to have to regain her trust. I can't help you with that. But I can convince her to stay." I sighed giving in.

"You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you." He hugged me and I reluctantly hugged back.

"But I want something when this is over." I knew I was not in any position to make demands as one of the selected but I figured what do I have to lose. It's not like he's going to marry me in the end anyways.

"What? "

"When you are king I want a position at the palace. I want to stay close to Elsa and Punzie. Also I want Punzie to have a place here, if she wants." I explained. He nodded taking in the information.

"Of course Mer. I need someone like you to keep me in line." He smiled and ruffled my hair. I punched him a little bit...

"Also, I uh nevermind. " I was embarrassed to ask him so I dropped it. Well tried to.

"No Cmon Mer. Now I want to know." He smirked knowingly.

"Well uh I was just going to ask if after this is over you could maybe uh um it was just a thought but like kinda set me up with one of your guards." I looked away from him because I knew he was going to laugh at me. He gasped.

"Who? Which guard? I have to know!" He teased.

"That's my cue to leave." I got up and started walking towards the door. Then it opened. I stumbled back and looked up to see Hiccup.

"Should I escort her out your highness?" He asked. I noticed I was staring so I looked away only to find Jack smirking at me.

"No I need to have a quick word with her." He nodded and left. I glared at him.

"It's him! This is great! You have a crush he teased.

"I will end you." He gulped and sat down as I headed towards the door. As I was about to turn the know Jack spoke.

"I'll see what I can do." I walked back to my room smiling uncontrollably.
