My room was right next to Elsa's which was beside Merida's. We definately lucked out in that department. There weren't any guards on duty directly outside our rooms so I just had to get rid of the maids. They were kind but kind of irritating. I asked them to leave and they did. As soon as they passed the guard I snuck over to Elsa's room. Her maids weren't there. It seemed unusual but also a bit hypocritical to ask her about it. Elsa was in a night gown sitting on her bed with a book.
"Hey Elsie." I said while sitting at the edge of her bed. She waved and ignored me. I sighed and started absent mindedly bouncing. After a minute or so I could feel Elsa's glare.
"Could you stop? I'll be done my chapter in like two pages." She groaned. I nodded and looked at the cover.
"Oooh I've read that boom! The main character dies. " I said before slapping my hand over my mouth. Elsa sighed and closed the book.
"What do you want? " She was obviously irritated by my mistake.
" I just wanted to talk. I'm nervous. We are meeting him tomorrow." I said nervously. Elsa sighed and shook her head.
"He's just a guy." Elsa seemed bored with the subject.
"He's not though. He's a prince!" I said dreamily.
"Princes are overrated." She sighed.
"Why are you here Els?" I asked curiously. "If you don't want the prince..."
"Someone asked me to sign up. I didn't think I'd actually get picked." She shrugged.
"But now that you're here why don't you try? I know what it's like to be a five. This could be a great thing." She seemed to process what I was saying but someone opened the door.
"Hey guys. " Merida smirked. We all giggled. She jumped on the bed next to me. "What's up?"
"Just talking about tomorrow."
"UGH! " She yelled. I slapped her telling her to be quiet as someone knocked on the door.
"Lady Elsa are you alright?" The guard knocked lightly.
"Yes I'm fine. Sorry to disturb you!" She called through the door.
"Its Ok Miss. If you need anything I will be at the end of the hall."
"Thank you sir." We waited for footsteps. When they came we burst into giggles.
"That was close. " Elsa said her voice full of relief. I nodded. Merida looked a little irritated, probably because she had to be quiet.
"So what are you wearing tomorrow?" I questioned.
"No clue my maids haven't told me." Merida shrugged.
"I asked them for something blue. That's the only colour I would feel comfortable in I think." Elsa shrugged.
"Ooh you look gorgeous in blue!" I smiled. "I have a purple dress. It's so pretty they did a great job. Mer are you excited to meet the prince?" I asked.
"Not really."
"Why not???" I whined.
"I don't want to be here but if I quit my mom will disown me." She shrugged.
"I picked the worst friends." I giggled. They both laughed with me and I looked at the time. "We should go Mer. It's getting late." Elsa nodded and walked to the door. We followed close behind. She opened the door and checked the hall.
"The coast is clear. Go." Merida and I snuck back to our rooms before the guard turned around. I fell onto my bed and smiled to myself. Neither of my friends really wanted the prince so I wouldn't have to be competitive with them. I would want them to stay in the competition though. I fell asleep thinking about the prince. I couldn't wait to meet him.
