I danced with Flynn for most of the night except for once with Jack. After the party Flynn escorted me to my room. I dismissed my maids and as soon as they were out of sight, Flynn came in.

"I wish I wasn't so addicted to you." He sighed as he pulled me close to him.

"I wish I could be with you all the time. I don't want to be an Elite but as soon as I'm out of the competition I will be so far away from you." I wanted to cry but he placed his lips on mine.

"Shhhhh. We don't need to talk. Or think. Just be together." He kissed me again and we fell on to my bed.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too." We stayed together on my bed just cuddling.

My bedroom door opened.

"Rap- Oh my god." I figured it was Merida or Elsa. I was wrong.

"A-Astrid what are you doing here?" I asked. She sprinted out of the room and I darted after her. I wasn't fast enough I ran back to hide in my room. Astrid was going to tell Jack. Flynn and I would surely be executed.

"Rapunzel I'm so sorry." Flynn had his head in his hands.

"Don't be. I chose you. I still choose you. I love you." I said sitting beside him.

"Rap it's her word against yours. I'll leave so they have no proof." He stated trying to come up with a solution.

"Okay but I want you to know that whatever happens, I don't regret it."

The next day I went down to breakfast pretending everything was normal. When I got there I noticed Astrid was gone. After breakfast I headed towards the women's room when I was stopped by Prince Jack.

"Rapunzel I need to speak with you." He stated. I followed him to his room. He dismissed all the guards and told me to sit.

"Jack-"

"Is it true?" He asked with clenched fists.

"I'm so-"

"Is it true?" He repeated.

"Yes." I stared at my feet. He punched the wall hard. I was scared.

"Do you love him?" He asked me not looking at me.

"Ja-"

"Do you love him!?" Jack yelled.

"Yes." I squeaked. Jack fell to his knees. "I'm sorry. Execute me if you want." I sobbed.

"Rapunzel I could never. I'm not making you leave either. When the selection is over you can marry Flynn. Until then I need you to act as though you love me. I have an image to uphold." I nodded and threw my arms around him.

"Thank you Jack." I cried into his shoulder.

"Clean yourself up before you go back to the women's room. I will see you at lunch." He opened his door and I left.

I heard the door slam and a huge crash from inside his room. I rushed to my room and stayed there until lunch.
