"Hi Gundy!" Souda greeted, licking Gundham's cheek. "Please tell me I am not one of your pregnancy cravings..." The other male said. Souda and Gundham were a pair of nekos (Essentially people, but with animal ears and tails, and slightly more animalistic mannerisms) selected to breed to make a cat/dog/human hybrid. Souda was a German Sheperd/Human (with his ears and tail dyed pink to match his bubblegum hair) and Gundham was an Oriental Black & White/Human who were essentially thrown together and forced to mate. Everyone had assumed Gundham would be the one impregnated (even Souda) but he quickly overpowered his weak mate. "No way I'd eat you. I don't wanna go raising any kids alone! Plus, you're my mate!" The male reasoned, running a hand over his small baby bump.
The 'Monitor,' a human selected to watch over them, left, assuming they wouldn't tear each other apart. He locked the door behind himself, of course. They both knew he wasn't supposed to leave. "So, have you come up with any ideas?" Souda asked hushedly. The pair wanted, more than anything, to leave this facility. Their terrible food, strict schedules, forced breeding and sick experiments.
Gundham promised him that they would escape together, and go somewhere that they could safely raise their family. It was a promise.
"I was thinking of poisoning the guards with rags while we're out, taking their keys to the front door and leaving." The cat hybrid brainstormed. "I'm in. They deserve it, anyway." His mate frowned. "I know they do. I truly hope this place falls to rubble in our escape." Gundham said as Souda laid out on his lap. He petted the neko gently as his pink ears twitched.
They stayed like that for a while, peaceful and calm. Souda had almost fallen asleep, until a loud "TIME'S UP! VISIT OVER!" Invaded his sensitive hearing. Scientists yanked the boy off of Gundham's lap by his collar, causing him to make a strangled yelping noise. Tears welled in Souda's eyes as he was dragged away, using his arms to shield his pregnant tummy from sustaining any damage. Gundham was powerless to help him, and he knew well that Souda now had to go back to being crammed into an uncomfortable cage.
'Don't worry, Souda. We'll escape together, one day.' Gundham thought. He tried to picture them living together in a small home, with a little kid or two running around happily. He hoped that could be them someday. All he wanted was to see his mate smile.
It seemed that happiness was so close, but so far away.
