I had to work a late shift at work tonight and I really didn't want to go. It was around 3 in the afternoon and Pony and I haven't gotten out of bed yet. Well, I briefly did, only when Kitty came to pick up Rosie earlier this morning.

I got up and headed toward my small closet, which could only hold a few things. I took out a pair of pants and my work shirt, and slipped on a pair of tennis shoes. I was so tired, but I had to get up and go.

"Do you have to go to work? I don't want you to leave."

Pony said, giving me the puppy dog face. I kissed his cheek.

"I'm afraid so. Ill be back around 11, okay? I love you."

"To the moon and back?"

He asked me,

"To the moon and back."

I said and walked out of my humble home.

When I got to the market, it was actually rather busy. People were coming in, looking at my paintings, and buying produce.

No matter how much I need this job, I hated it more than anything. It was boring, didn't pay well, and required no creativity at all. It was pretty hard for me not to hate it, in fact!

"Why do these apples look bruised? Can you please replace them so that I can buy some fresh ones?"

I had to deal with oddly difficult customers all the time. This one, however, was rather bossy.

"I'm afraid our new apples don't come in until tomorrow. I'm sorry."

"Why can't you have them now?! I need good apples or else I won't eat them!!"

She said to me. That was my limit. I sort of lost it.

"Is that my problem? Don't talk to me like that for something I can't control. I don't care that you can't eat semi-bruised apples, so if you want fresh ones, come back tomo-"

My boss came up and grabbed my hand. I shook out of his grip.

"Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, please don't be so hostile! I'm so sorry, ma'am. It won't happen again."

He looked at me, wanting an apology for her. He was kind of creepy looking, middle-aged, and had a mustache. Not to mention he was a total creep.

"I'm sorry for using a higher tone with you, ma'am."

I said. My boss winked at me and walked away.
