East Side Sunsets

Chapter 7

I began to scream hysterically and he punched me in the side of my stomach. I cried even more.

"SHUT UP"

He screamed at me. I yelled even more, and he beat me even more. Tears stained my face, but I knew if was helping.

He continued to rub against me and had gotten my shirt completely off. He was sucking on my neck.

All of a sudden, I hear someone by the door, pushing it open with all of their might.

On the other side was someone I worked with, who told me to run as they began to beat up my boss. I ran out of the market and sprinted as fast as I could back home. I could still feel tears staining my face. I had not shirt on, my pants were ripped, and my face was bleeding. I have been sexually assaulted.

The closest house was the Curtis house, and I knew I could go there. I ran into their house, shirtless. Soda and Shanna were sitting on the couch while Darry was in the recliner. Soda jumped up so fast and ran to me.

"Lucy! What the hell happened to you?!"

He said, holding me. I had a bra on, of

course, just no shirt. I felt uncomfortable, but I didn't care.

"My boss-he-punished me"

I said, nearly falling to the ground in exhaustion. He looked at Darry who help carry me to the couch. Shanna went into Sodas room and got one of his shirts. I slipped that on and shivered. Darry handed me a glass of water.

"I better call Pony and let him know that you're here."

Darry said. I rubbed my still panicked face. I was still crying even though it was over. I can't believe it.

"So, what exactly happened?"

Asked Soda. It took me a minute to recuperate my memory.

"I was selling fruit to this lady, and I may have raised my voice at her. He called me into his office later where he asked me how I think I shouldn't repay him for losing a customer. I suggested something, but he declined it. He started by sucking on my neck and- ripping off my shirt. He rubbed himself against me like a monkey and it..made me feel disgusting. Then he punched me whenever I called for help. I-I don't remembe-"

And then, I fainted. I think I was just tired. Exhausted from shock. I just wanted Ponyboy.
