Chapter 34

Pony and I just sat around the entire rainy Saturday. It was just a day off from reality and everything in it. Rosie napped for around an hour and a half, which was enough time to sneak a quick one with Pony. just what we both needed.

I walked around the rest of the day in one of Ponyboy's big shirts while just wore his usual no shirt, which, I didn't mind. I walked over to the kitchen sink to make tea when Pony snuck up behind me and picked me up with both of his arms. I laughed out loud, as I am very ticklish.

"You feel lighter. Are you you losing weight?"

He asked me. I stopped laughing.

"God, I hope so!"

I said and giggled. Ponyboy didn't take it as a joke, however. He put me back onto my feet. He still held my arm with his hand.

"Why do you hope so?"

"Well, every girl wants to be skinny! Just like every guy wants to be muscular, like you."

I said to him. He looked down at my feet.

"But, you're perfect. Why do you need to change?"

He asked, staring his eyes into my soul. I saw tears form into his eyes, as I stood there, speechless.

"You don't need to change, Lucy. Don't starve yourself just to look like other girls! How much more does it take for you to realize that you're perfect!? Huh?"

He said, and began to cry. I was so confused. Why was he crying?

"Baby, stop crying. I'm not starving myself! Don't you ever think that I do. Why are you crying?"

I asked him. I sat down on the ground, and brought him down with me.

"I don't know, Lucy, I just don't want you to feel bad about yourself when all I see in my eyes is perfection."

"I may not see perfection, but that doesn't mean that I don't believe you. Now, don't worry about me, okay?"

He solemnly nodded at me. I prevented anything else to come out of his mouth by pressing my lips onto his. I could feel his smile as our lips connected with one another. We slowly laid down on the ground , staring at each other.

"And anyway, Pony, you could just be getting stronger!"

He smiled at me.
