I went back to bed since it was only around 6 in the morning when Soda called. It was still dark out, so i figured I could get a little more rest. I put the baby back in the crib and she laid down.

I laid with Ponyboy in bed, and I noticed he was wide awake right next to me.

"Mornin', baby"

He said to me, holding my hand. I smiled and nestled myself deep into the embrace of the bed.

"I'm scared that Jess might not come back. What if she doesn't? I just lied to Soda."

"Hey, calm down. You didn't lie to anyone. It was Jess's decision to leave and she's the one to blame, not you. Remember that time when I blamed you for Sandy getting pregnant and leaving Soda? This is almost the same thing. Don't worry about anything you can't control."

I pouted a little bit but snuggled a little closer to Ponyboy. He ran his hand through my tangly hair, beginning to smooth it out. The baby began to cry a little bit, so I took her out of her crib, and nestled her in my arms.

"Maybe she's hungry. It's breakfast, anyway."

Ponyboy said, rolling out of bed. He got up and got one of Rosie's bottles of milk. She drank the whole bottle in less than a minute, she must've been hungry.

I went to the bathroom and turned on the warm water, she needed a bath. I undressed her and sat her down in the bathtub. She splashed around in it and laughed.

"So, what time is your dinner tonight? I have to call Shanna and ask of she can watch the baby."

I asked. Ponyboy walked over and sat on the floor with me.

"It's going to be around 7, I don't know when it's going to end. We should probably just let Shanna and Darry keep her for the night."

"Okay, sounds good."

I pecked him on the nose and turned back to the baby in the bath tub. I got soap in my hand and began to run it along her back. She giggled as a used a cloth to rub it in.

"Do you need any help? I can help."

Ponyboy asked, smiling.

"You're too cute. Could you get a towel for her?"

He kissed the top of my head and walked over to where we keep our towels in our laundry area.

"Here you go!"

He said, handing me the towel. He took the baby out of the tub and placed her in the towel. He dried her off and held her in it for and while. He nestled her in his arms and sat down on the couch. I got up and took the baby from him. He sort of frowned.

"Don't worry, I'm just gonna change her"

He nodded and turned on the radio. I changed Rosie into a little summer onesie. She always had the most precious clothes on. I took her back over to Ponyboy who was playing some rock band on the radio. He nestled her in his arms again, and I snuggled next to him.
