I was watching Rosie at our apartment while Dallas took Kitty out to the city to look for some fun, I guess. I was stuck on my Friday night, watching a little baby. I didn't mind, I guess. Rosie was one of the most precious baby's I have ever seen, and she always smiles.

Ponyboy opened the door at around 7 at night, after his interview with the Times. I picked out what he wore, and might I say, he looked handsome.

"How was the interview, my dear?"

I asked him, while he began to take off his work outfit. I shifted the baby so that she was facing Ponyboy, away from me. She just smiled.

"It was good...maybe... I don't know, I'm nervous."

He said, shrugging. I smiled at him.

"I'm sure you did great, baby."

I said to him. He came over and gave me a kiss and then Rosie a kiss as well. Rosie seemed to like Pony a lot. She would always reach for him to hold her. I hope our kids are like that, too!

Ponyboy, Rosie, and I sat on the couch listening to the news on the radio. Just a whole bunch of news about robbers and murders. Nothing really new in this town, to say the least.

When Rosie was hungry, I had to grab her a bottle out of the ice box and feed it to her. She was almost a year old, so Kitty normally breast fed her.

"Here, do you want me to feed her this time?"

Pony asked, smiling at me. I knew he secretly loved to hold her even though he denied it every time I asked him. I handed him the baby and he took her bottle out of the ice box. He sat right next to me with the baby and mimicked what he sees me do when I have to feed her. He laid her in his right arm and began to feed her with his left. She sucked on the bottle in such a peaceful way. She was so innocent. So...gold.

I heard a knock at the door.

"I'll get that, no worries."

I say to Ponyboy, as he held the baby in his arms. I got up and wiped my purple dress to get all of the wrinkles out. I went and opened the door only to see that girl, Jess from across the hall.

"Hey there, Lucy."

She says, looking straight at me.

"Hi, Jess. Can I help you with something?"

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for bothering you two that one day. I was in kind of a bad mood. It's a long story"

She says as she walks into my house uninvited. She walks over and sits at the couch near Ponyboy as do I.

"So you do have a baby! See, I knew it!"

She says to me. I roll my eyes. Jesus Christ, was this girl stupid.

"This is not our baby. She doesn't even look like either of us"

Ponyboy says to her. She observes Rosie's face for a long while, then she looks at me, and then back at Pony.

"You're right. She doesn't have the tiny slanted eyes like your girlfriends. She also doesn't have the greasy hair like Ponyboy's."

I roll my eyes. She comes in to apologize and then just makes matters worse. Neither of us say anything to her, but I take the baby, who was finished with her bottle, and put her in the small cradle that Dallas brought us. She snuggle up in the blanket I laid on her and she fell asleep almost instantly.

"Anyhow, I wanted to properly Introduce myself. I'm Jessica Parker. I'm 19. Now, how old are you two?"

She asked us. I wasn't quite sure if she was to be trusted or not.

"We both just graduated high school, so we're 18."

I said.

"Why did you move in here right after you graduated? Parents kick you out?"

"Neither of us have parents so no, our parents did not kick us out of the house. We just wanted more freedom after graduation."

Ponyboy said to her. She looked understanding.

"I ran away from my house when I was just 15, and that's how long I've lived here. I stole some money from the bank, and bought this place with it."

She said. I didn't really care about what she was saying since we just net, but I guess I had to look intrigued.

"Do you have a job?"

Ponyboy asked.

"Yes...but it's very embarrassing."

She said to us. Ponyboy and I both looked at each other and then looked back at her.

"You don't have to be embarrassed."

I said
