Chapter 31

The beep resonated through ur body, causing ur mouth to open in a silent scream and ur legs to buckle from beneath you.
"NURSE!!!!! NURSE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!"
Dylan holly and Charlotte were screaming too, but as no less than 7 doctors and nurses hurtled through the door, all u could do was scream, kick as they got to work setting up defibrillators.

One of the doctors looked your way and motioned to the nurses. They grabbed u by the shoulders and started to haul you out of the door. U kicked and punched them, but u were too distraught to properly get away. They dumped u in a seat and ran back through, locking the door behind them.

Dylan, Holly and Charlotte all stared at u dumbfounded as u started to sob. Suddenly, they were all around u and forcing u to look at Dylan as he spoke to u.
"Y/N, you've got to calm down. Shhhhh. They're doing everything they can, ok? All u can do is wait now."
His words infuriated u,
"wait?! WAIT?! He's in there DYING and all I'm expected to do is WAIT!! Dylan that's a load of CRAP and u know it!!!!!"
U expected Dylan to look hurt, but all he did was look up at u with worried eyes.

The hospital entrance doors were flung open and Minho hurtled towards u. "Charlotte! Are u ok? I got ur text and came here as soon as I could!" Looking guilty, Minho turned towards u, "y/n, I'm so sorry about Thomas. I'm sure everything will be ok." Repressing the urge to slap him, u buried ur face in ur hands.
"Oh Minho. I'm so glad ur here. It's just been awful." As Charlotte spoke, u realised that all of her disappearances have been to see Minho. In spite of it all, u resolved that u would try to talk to her more about it.

After 5 of the most hellish minutes you have ever had in ur life, Dr Rashid, the one u hated opened the door and stared at u all. "We have successfully restarted Thomas' heart. It was simply a reaction to the stress of him finding out he couldn't feel his legs yet. In combination with the anaesthetic we gave him, his body couldn't fight it. (That is by no means medically correct 😂) He is awake and talking but weak, so please keep ur visit to 1 or 2 minutes."

U started to walk forwards with Holly and Dylan in tow, Charlotte resolving to stay and wait with Minho for now. As you walked through the door, you were relieved to hear the steady beeping on Thomas' machine. As soon as he saw you all, Thomas immediately sat up straighter and reached his hand out to reach you. "Y/N. It's u." His voice was little more than a croak.
"Oh Thomas," u sobbed and you kissed his cheek and forehead, "don't u ever do that to me again, u hear? Now please baby lets get better, yeah?"
He nodded and gripped ur hand tighter.
"It's ok, I'm starting to get the feeling back in my legs now. I promise u y/n, we can get through this."
U smiled at him, and as soon as he smiled back you felt the hours of hurt and worry slipping away into nothingness...
