Chapter 53

U all walked to the fun fair since it was only 10 minutes away. U laughed inwardly at what tourists u all must look like to the locals here.

When you arrived at the busy funfair it was early evening, the sun just about to slip down behind the Ferris wheel. U all walked over to the first store u could see and bought some candy floss and popcorn from a cheery looking woman in dressed in red and white stripes. Dylan and holly were going to get a ride on the Ferris wheel, so u and Thomas went with them whilst Charlotte, Minho and Edie went to go on the bumper cars.

On the Ferris wheel u and Thomas had ur own little seat together looking out over the twinkling funfair. You even had a great view of the sunset. As soon as the ride started, u took Thomas' hand and squeezed. You weren't the best with heights.
Thomas just laughed and brought you closer to him. "Oh y/n relax- it's fine!"
You laughed nervously, "yeah... I suppose so. So long as you're here to catch me if I fall."
Thomas rolled his eyes and laughed again, looking out over the lights of Florence as he did so.

When u met up with the others again you all decided to try and win a stuffed animal on one of the game stores. The owners of these stores looked a little less welcoming to people, used to their cheating and angry when they failed at the games.
Dylan sauntered over and smiled at them instead, striking up a conversation with one about how hard it must be to work there, whilst Dylan was flattering him, Thomas was able to pay for a go and shoot the gun at one of the targets. U lost hope when one of the bullets just missed it, but thanks to Dylan's new found friendship with the owner, he insisted Thomas take a prize, telling him he "was the closest he'd seen all day"

You marvelled at Dylan's plan as he successfully won Holly and Charlotte prizes too, even when him and Minho were miles off the target! You bid goodbye to the now cheerful and friendly owner and made your way out of the funfair, laughing and joking as you went.
"Dylan- how did u ever think of that?"
"That worked like a charm!"
"I can't believe we got away with that!"
Dylan grinned at you all, "it's my little trick- it's never failed since I was 7 years old."
U all laughed together and smiled as you walked down the busy streets back to the hotel.
You held Thomas' hand and sighed in happiness as you and your friends all did the same.
The perfect end to a perfect day.
