"Luze Lu you doing anything tomorrow?" Justin asked me as we waited for the lunch bell to ring.
"Yeah, why?" I asked. "And don't call me that."
"For no reason. Why not? It's cute." He laughed.
"What part of it?" What a weird guy... I couldn't help but smile as he laughed. Before either of us could say anything else, the bell rung loudly. It quickly ended whatever fun we were having.
"I have French, I'll see you." I grabbed my back pack and headed for the door.
"Hey wait," He stopped me. "I have French too. Let's walk together." He opened the door.
"Won't that be a little too weird? A Pop and a Reject?" I walked past Justin.
"It won't be that weird. Let's go before we're late." He grabbed my hand.
"It's not weird. We're just too different to be doing this." I giggled, I jerked my hand away and we walked to English side by side. Tick Tock, Tick Tock, RING! The last bell rang.
"Oh thank god its the weekend! Today took forever." Summer stretched as Hunter and I walked next to her.
"I can't wait for tomorrow either. It's gonna be awesome. Freak Night, I can see it now." Hunter gestured his arm across his face.
"You're just dj-ing nerd songs. What's gonna make you so famous from it?" Ginger walked up to us.
"Come on Ginger, you know you'll have fun." Hunter nudged her. I still can't believe those two are siblings.
"You wish." I knew another argument would start from her comment.
"Anyways I have a ride. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I waved goodbye and walked off, I doubt they even noticed me.
After escaping I walked away from the school and down the street. Pulling out my notebook and pencil, I began writing down everyday inspirations. The scenery looked nice for once, maybe because it was after garbage day? As I wrote down my thoughts a car pulled up next to me.
"You want some candy?" Someone asked, I ignored the car until I heard hysterical laughter come from it.
"Luze your too much," Justin rolled down his window. It took him a while to stop laughing. "Get in." He said afterwards.
"I don't like walking that much anyway." I gave up on walking. I decided Justin was as nice as a Pop would get, so it wouldn't hurt to be friends a little. He drove to my house quickly. It was fun driving past and blowing away some autumn leaves.
"You have a phone right?" Justin asked me.
"I would feel out of place if I didn't have one." I replied back.
"If I give you my number would you give me yours back?" He asked and pointed his phone at me. I was hesitant for a moment then I took his phone, giving him mines.
"Why not?" I typed in my number into his contacts.
"Thanks, see ya." He waited until I went into the house.
"That guys freakishly boyfriendy." I whispered to myself and flopped onto my bed. I lied there for a while until I got hungry, I hadn't noticed that over two hours passed.
Ding-a-Ding-a-Ding-Dong! You got a phone call! Ding-a-. I answered the phone.
"Hewo?" My mouth was full.
"Uh hey? You okay?" It was another good friend of mine, Emily.
"Yeah, what's up?" I finished swallowing.
"Guess where I'm going?" She asked excited.
"Uh, Italy?" I answered.
"No. Its somewhere that'll make things awesome." Her voice was too loud through the phone.
"Is it somewhere is Asia?" I answered again, she made a buzzer noise.
"No, look outside." Emily squealed through the phone. There was no way she would be outside, just in case I looked through the blinds. There was only a blonde boy.
"You see that boy right there?" She asked, it made me question if she was psychic.
"That's John!" She said.
"What?! Why's John here?" I ran to the door.
"Turns out John's flight was one week before mine's. You don't think aunty would mind?" Her voice went nervous.
"Emily!" I shouted and opened the door.
"A-anyway. I'll call you back. Bye." She hung up cheerfully before I said goodbye.
"John! Come inside." I went out into my drive way to meet John.
"Wow Luze! ... You're so short." He looked down to meet my eyes.
"One more word about my height and I'll leave you outside." I got annoyed. I began to dial Hunter's phone.
"No no no. I sorry." He squirmed around before walking into the house.
"What's up?" Hunter answered.
"Hunter... turns out my cousin's here a week early. You wouldn't have another ticket would you?" I gave a shy laugh. What on earth was this kind of placement?!
