"Luze... if something like that was bothering you that much, you really could've just told me." He re-said during our lunchtime, as I nibbled on the sandwich he bought me.
"I know but I didn't want to bother you with things like that." I closed my eyes and continued nibbling.
"You can tell me anything, y'know? It'll never be a bother." He said and took a large bite out of his sandwich.
"You promise?" I looked up from my sandwich and his face lit up.
"I promise!" He grabbed onto me from the shoulders. "God... you really can be too cute sometimes." I laid my head in his chest.
"...Who's that?" I looked up from him and seen a shadow by the door.
"Wait here." He slowly approached the door, quickly pouncing on the person outside.
"Wah! Wah! S-stop!" It sounded like Jeremy so I walked over quickly.
"Jeremy what are you doing here?" I looked at him confused.
"I was told to walk down this hall by that girl Ginger and then I thought I heard you guys so I went to see. But I couldn't see well and I didn't want to eavesdrop, so I was going to leave but he jumped on me." Jeremy explained.
"Why would Ginger send you down here?" Justin looked confused.
"Why wouldn't she?" I pulled Jeremy and Justin into the room and crouched on the floor. "I'm sure they are approaching from the other ends of the hallway." I felt like a detective.
"So... if we wait here, they'd say their plan aloud or something?" Justin asked.
"Most likely. It always happens in movies." I said, we waited on the floor for a few minutes away from the doors and behind a pile of boxes to keep hidden.
"Geez! Where is that kid?" You could hear Ginger's voice.
"Did you send him down the right hall?" It was Sabrina's.
"I'm sure. Check the other halls to make sure." Ginger said and footsteps passed our door.
"That kid just ain't right." Justin's ears jumped up hearing his friends voice.
"It's cause of Luze. She's messed with Justin and I'm sure she messed with him too!" Ginger said.
"You make it sound like that girl's a villain." Mark said and footsteps lurked closer to us.
"She's not actually. She just needs to stay in her place." Her voice was harsh. I leaned on Justin's shoulder and he wrapped his arm me.
"They really don't like you." Jeremy said bluntly.
"I guess. I'm not very likeable." I said.
"In my opinion you're very likeable." Justin said.
"Mines too." Jeremy smiled.
"Honestly though, what were they going to do?" I couldn't help but think about it.
"I don't know but we'll leave that matter for later." Justin said and we all stood up.
We did leave that matter for a different time, and surprisingly none of us has had an encounter with something like that since. Our waiting did make time go by faster, next thing we knew Spring Break was over and graduation was coming up soon. It felt like all the rivalries or challenges that I face in high school were over...
"Come to prom. Vote Ginger Scottson as prom queen." Sabrina handed me a flyer and Ginger smacked it away from me.
"I don't want a reject like her at prom just to make the appearance rating go down." She gagged and I took the paper off the ground.
"Don't worry. I won't." I gave her an arrogant smile and walked off with the paper.
...Or were they? Maybe I'd have one more high school battle before I was no longer a student here.
