Not So Stereotypical
Chapter Thirty Three: Break From Reality
"You're sure you have everything you need?" Burt asked his son. They were currently at the airport, waiting for Blaine and Cooper to arrive.
"I'm sure I have everything dad." Kurt nodded.
"I'm going to miss you." Burt sighed, pulling Kurt into a big hug.
"It's a week dad." Kurt smiled softly. "I'll be back by Christmas."
"I know." He nodded. "Make sure he treats you good. And no funny business."
"Dad I'm seventeen and we both know that Blaine's taken my flower so to speak..." Kurt said awkwardly.
"When did you grow up so fast?" Burt sighed, laughingly slightly. "I remember the first talk we ever had about sex."
"That was the most awkward conversation I've ever had." Kurt laughed. "Don't remind me."
"You were so shy back then." Burt commented. "I thought you'd never want to experiment with that."
"Do you know when I even got into that faze with Blaine?" Kurt asked, nervously. They were never the kind of father and son to talk about his and Blaine's sexual relationship.
"I don't but I just hope you were ready when it happened." Burt admitted.
"We'd only been dating for a few weeks." Kurt nodded, not understanding why he was telling him this. Maybe it was just that they hadn't been as close as they used to in the past month or so.
"A few weeks?" Burt said, a little surprised.
"You know how everyone builds sex up to be this amazing thing but the first time is always awkward?" Kurt asked, and Burt nodded. "Well it didn't feel that way with him. I felt different for him than I felt when I had a stupid crush on Finn or Sam. It felt right. Like we were meant to be."
"And how does it feel now?" Burt asked.
"Exactly the same." Kurt blushed.
"I'm happy you feel that way. You deserve to be happy. I'm just glad he makes you feel that way." He said.
"Hey." Blaine smiled, coming up to the duo.
"Blaine!" Kurt smiled, wrapping his arms around the shorter boy.
They'd been away from each other for a little while. Burt wanted a few days with Kurt alone before he left so it'd been about five days since they got to see each other.
"Miss me?" Blaine asked, whispering softly into his ear.
"Always." Kurt whispered back and kissed Blaine softly before breaking the kiss and unwrapping his arms from him.
"Our flight leaves in five." Cooper said, handing the two their tickets.
"Have a safe trip." Burt said, wrapping his arms tightly and protectively around his son. "I love you."
"I love you too dad." Kurt said and grabbed his bag to follow Blaine.
"Keep him safe for me Blaine." Burt nudged the boy.
"Of course. Wouldn't think of anything else." Blaine nodded.
"Have fun boys." Burt waved as they all left for their flight.

"Welcome to California." Cooper smirked, sliding his sunglasses onto his face.
"Whoa." Kurt said, dragging his bag behind him down the sidewalk.
"What?" Blaine asked.
"It's beautiful here." Kurt gaped.
