"Where are the cameras?" Eren asked sarcastically. "And the crew? Because this must be some sort of prank right?"
Levi hesitated before speaking. "I have my reasons, but I also have my uncertainties. You need to trust me on this if you want to escape safely, got it?"
"What makes you think I want to run away with you? You have freed me, I can run away from this place alone for all I know," Eren said, and as he said this, Levi's arm whipped out and his hands wrapped around Eren's wrist.
"We both know what the answer is. You're going to run and tell someone- you're going to tell the police, and I'll be in deep trouble," Levi told him.
"I-I won't tell anyone if you let me go," Eren stammered and took a step back.
"And what makes you think I'll believe you?" Levi questioned and raised a thin eyebrow. He stepped forward with a calm expression written on his face and used a thin finger to lift Eren's chin so that their eyes would meet. Eren avoided his gaze.
"You will do what I say, got it? One false move, and I'll punish you. Do you understand?"
"Yes," Eren mumbled.
"Good. Now follow me. We need to leave before he-"
Kenny always appeared at the wrong moments. Standing at the edge of the small clearing was where he was, staring at Eren's freed hands with a cigar hanging loosely in his mouth. A look of astonishment and shock covered his face, but soon twisted into an angry glare. He spat the cigar out of his mouth and pointed at the boy. The feeling of fear and panic filled Eren to the brim, and his stomach dropped. He balled his hands into fists and glanced sideways at Levi, who seemed to be having some sort of internal argument with himself; his eyebrows were sewn together and his mouth pursed in a tight line. Eren was still doubting him. Maybe he was still deciding whether or not it was a good idea to let him go.
"What is he doing free?" he demanded and walked towards them, grumpy and sour. "Levi, what are you doing? Tie him up."
"No," he said carefully, but indifferently.
"Stop fooling around, my boy," Kenny said gruffly.
"I won't tie him up," Levi insisted and narrowed his eyes.
"Levi," his said angrily now, louder even. "What's going on with you? Tie. The. Boy. Up." His words were quick and choppy.
"No," Levi repeated and glared.
"You're my own flesh and blood and I really don't want to have to hurt you," Kenny told him and raised his hands up as if surrendering, but his eyes said something different. They were cold and hard like a rock, intimidating even. He had the eyes of a hunter.
Levi grabbed Eren by the shoulders and shoved him behind him so that he was like some kind of protective shield. Just as he almost tripped to the ground, Kenny reached for an object in the waistband of his jeans and yanked it out, revealing a pistol revolver. Eren swallowed nervously.
"Eren, run," Levi shouted as he ducked to avoid getting shot in the chest. The sounds of the gun startled Eren, and he did what he was told and ran as fast as he could. His legs felt stiff for not doing any exercise in a while. He ducked behind a tree to watch what was going to happen, but far enough so that the crazed man wouldn't see him.
Levi gave a strong kick at the hand that held the gun and managed to knock it out. The older man reacted quickly and lunged for it, but failed when Levi swept his legs from beneath him with his own. He tackled Kenny to the ground and delivered a strong punch to the side of his face. Kenny wrapped his tough hands around Levi's neck and squeezed. During the struggle, a medium sized bottle slipped its way out of his wide pocket. He didn't notice, but Levi certainly did. He whipped out a hand to grab it, but was stopped when Kenny squeezed harder. Levi's eyes widened and Eren slowly watched in horror and dread as his eyes began to roll back into his head. These pretty odd wheezing noises fell from his lips, and he looked like he was getting paler more than ever. His hands pounded weakly at Kenny, but it was no use.
