AHHHH! I'm back! I'm alive!
I'm so sorry for not updating sooner! How many weeks has it been? Two? That's way too long!
I've been really caught up in work this week and last and school is getting really busy. Who knew Grade 11 would have so much work? >.< I also caught a cold this weekend. For gym class, we had to go out into the cold weather of September and exercise. It had been raining a little, and, of course, I got sick. I feel horrible right now and I still have so much work to do, but I decided it was long overdue for an update, so here it is!
Hope you guys enjoy it! I really hope it isn't too choppy and unrealistic! Ahhh!
In the next few minutes, Calissa and Peter found themselves forced into a carriage with their hands bound as they went out of the camp to a place unknown. The carriage bounced over every impurity on the road, making her wince as the metal cuffs dug into her skin too much for comfort. Peter was sitting beside her in the same situation with his head down. His long locks covered his face, preventing her from seeing what he was thinking. She doubted it was anything good.
Soldiers sat all around them with their weapons in their hands, guarding them like hawks, while the prince had been left back at his tent to make preparations for the next day of training. Their faces were stoic as they stared into the black space in front of them. Their metal armour clanged with each bounce of the carriage, filling the atmosphere with nothing but the sound.
Calissa turned away, looking out the small window. She fidgeted in her seat, the darkness suddenly overwhelming her. The carriage jolted, making her mind expel the sleep that was about to take over her mind for a few moments before it came hurling back. She peeked under her lashes at the guards, scowling as she tried to figure out where they were going.
The next time she was conscious was the moment she was flying in the air. A soldier had pushed her from her seat in the carriage towards the ground, where she landed on the dirt floor.
Her sleep was instantly disrupted as pebbles scraped her hands and knees painfully, making her wince. Peter landed beside her, sliding against the dirt from the force. The doors of the carriage behind them slammed shut, piercing a needle of sound through her cloudy mind.
