Good deeds. That's all that Jungkook had been focused on doing that week. He wanted to be a hero. The good guy. He wanted people to know him as the kind hearted quarterback who was nice to everyone. He wanted to change how people saw him.
Jungkook ran around the school, looking for Taehyung. He was nowhere to be found. The boy hadn't been to school at all that week, and he was somewhat worried. Why? Why did he care if that boy went missing?
"Hoseok! Hoseok!" Jungkook yelled from the other end of the hallway. He saw the older boy walking towards him. He must know where Taehyung is.
"Hoseok, have you seen Tae-" Jungkook paused. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. And no. I haven't seen him. No one has. He's practically missing right now," the boy growled.
"Oh... Sorry," Jungkook sighed. He was hoping that he could get a chance to talk to him about... Life in general. Taehyung was quiet, but he had a loud mind. His thoughts were interesting to Jungkook, and he wanted to know more.
"It's fine. But, if you see him, please tell me. I miss him and it's driving me crazy not knowing where he is," Hoseok mumbled and walked away. Jungkook was just about to turn the corner when a figure pulled him into a kiss.
"Hey, Jimin," Jungkook sighed, catching his breath.
"Hey- what's wrong?" Jimin asked after seeing the disappointed look on his face.
"Well-" Jungkook was just about to tell him about Taehyung when he suddenly remembered how much Jimin hated the boy. "... Nothing. I just... Nothing," Jungkook whispered as he stared down at the floor.
Jimin pulled Jungkook into a hug and stroked his hair. Jungkook felt all of his worries float away at the boy's soft touch. He closed his eyes and breathed. His mind cleared for a quick second. These were the kind of moments that he lived for. The kind where he and Jimin could just relax with no words. It was peaceful. For Jungkook, quiet was heaven. He loved being alone, which he never was because everyone always followed him around at school. He wanted to stay in this moment forever.
But nothing lasts forever, and he felt Jimin let go of him.
"You can tell me anything, you know that right? We're best friends. Got it?" Jimin asked. Jungkook nodded with a smile.
"Good. Now go away," Jimin gave him a playful shove, turned on his heels, and walked off.
Jungkook wasn't used to this. He wasn't used to Jimin just letting him run off. He was used to the slightly older boy always being next to him. Protecting him. Looking out for him. What was he doing now? What was more important than him? Jungkook felt all his worries flood his mind again. Though, this time he didn't have anyone to pull him into a hug. He was completely alone in the quiet hallway.
