After the heartwarming reunion, Jeonghan drives Seunghee to his condo unit, a bachelor’s pad at the 15th floor of the Renaissance Building. They enter the room and it looks dazzling. In eight years, he has this kind wealth already, he must have worked really hard for it. For them. Seunghee smiles to herself.
“Where do you go home now?” he asks.
“I have a condo unit too at the bay area,” she answers.
“That’s just two blocks away.”
“Yah.”
It feels awkward somehow. She still feels like living the dream. They’re finally back together now and sitting next to him on this huge couch feels unreal. She’s staring at him with so much going on in her head that he notices it.
“What are you thinking?” he asks her.
She smiles shyly at him, “You’re here. You’re never leaving me again right?”
Jeonghan stares fondly at her and kisses her ardently in an instant. “Let me show you something.”
He pulls her up and slowly drags her to his room. And just like that a wall full of pictures meets her eyes. It feels nostalgic. Just like that time in that apartment room. A wall full of photos. And when she moves closer, she can’t help her tears from overflowing. And it’s just like that time, the photographs are all of her.
Jeonghan hugs her from behind, trying to soothe her. She’s crying helplessly now, overwhelmed by the circumstances.
He kisses her hair before talking, “I never really left. I just made sure you wouldn’t find me. But every single day I would always see you. I would always take a photo capturing you. And these are the pictures I took while being away from you for the last eight years.”
Seunghee turns around and faces him, “Why did you hide from me? All these time, I was trying to get a hold of you. All these time I was always thinking where to find you.”
He looks down at her gently and says, “Cuz I got hurt.” She can’t answer him back so he continues. “And I wanted to make sure about everything. Cuz if I get hurt for the second time, I don’t think I can survive it. So it took me this long to finally see you again.”
She cups his face tears streaming down her face again. “I’m sorry for hurting you.”
“I know. And there’s no way I ever stopped loving you just because of that. But I’m selfish and I want you for myself though I didn’t want to force you if you really didn’t love me anymore.”
“I never stopped loving you. It was just a mistake. I never meant to hurt you. I was just confused… I was just…”
“Sshh… Don’t talk about it. It’s okay now. You’re here now. You’ve suffered long enough. I’m the one who’s supposed to say sorry.”
“No… It was all my fault.”
“It’s okay. I’ve long forgiven you. So will you forgive me too?”
“There’s nothing to forgive about. If only I didn’t…”
“Stop. It all lead us down today. You and me, together again.” Jeonghan smiles at her lovingly and kisses her forehead. “I missed you jagiya.”
She feels so blessed to hear him say those words again, “I missed you so much more jagiya.”
She hugs him tightly never letting him go again. And he does the same, making her feel the love he kept all these years, and it’s even stronger than before.
