Fifty Seven: When We Step Up Together (Part One)

“For the new couple!” Sehun proposes a toast raising the canned sodas in their hands.

At the cafeteria, the group is killing some time before heading home.

Jun shyly reacts, “Ah… stop it hyung.”

Sorn just smiles at them.

“Finally, you two,” Areum utters.

“Yeah, about time,” Seunghee adds.

“I’ll treat you dinner noona,” Jun tells her pointing at her.

“That includes me I guess,” Jeonghan seconds.

“Of course hyung, or maybe I’ll treat everyone to dinner later. How about that?” Jun confidently asks.

“Sure!...” the four elders agree.

“Wow… It’s the first time I heard of this. You really have lots in your pocket don’t you?” Sorn interrogates.

“Of course, what can’t I give for you?” Jun says staring at her that instantly makes her shiver.

“Ah! Stop it! Don’t be like this. You give me goose bumps,” Sorn disregards her.

Jun just laughs at her. He was just trying to tease her. They surely know each other well. And cheesiness is really a no no for them.

“So, it’s no wonder Jisoo’s not here,” Areum suddenly states.

Sorn pauses for a bit as if feeling affected, and Jun looks at her wondering how she will deal with it.

“I’ll talk to hyung if I see him. I’ll make sure there are no hard feelings between us,” Jun utters.

It surprises Sorn. This is something the old Jun won’t do. Maybe he matured steadily cuz of the Seunghee-Jeonghan thing.

“He’ll be okay guys. Don’t worry about him,” Jeonghan assures.

Sorn just looked at Jeonghan and Jun glances at her. He puts his arm around her shoulders as if comforting her, making her force a smile back at him.

“You know guys, I have something to say but my girlfriend here is just probably gonna shut me up before I even end what I’m about to say,” Sehun jokes.

This time, Areum elbows him on the side with a glare. “Just shut up then,” she says.

It slowly calms the air and soon they are all chattering again.

“Guys, summer’s about to end again. How about we take another trip?” Jun eagerly asks.

“How about we go to China while you’re at it?” Sehun comments.

Areum seconds, “Yeah, Sorn would definitely love that.”

The elders are teasing them again. It just doesn’t end. Sorn is just pouting at the side and Jun is just smiling sheepishly.

“Come on unnie, these two might go home together if you don’t stop that,” Seunghee says adding to the flame.

“What do you mean by that unnie?” Sorn raises an eyebrow at her.

Seunghee just chuckles at her. She knows what she’s talking about.

After a round of teasing and blabbering about stuffs, the group finally calls it a day and heads home.

Jeonghan and Seunghee are staying indoors for the day. A storm is raging outside and of course, Seunghee doesn’t want to hear or see any of it. Before the rain fell, she has already ran inside his apartment and is now relaxing at his living room. She’s comfortably digging on some chips watching new episodes of her fave animé. Jeonghan walks towards her bringing in some juice drink. But he has something else on his other hand. He sits with her and she quickly notices the can of beer he’s holding.
