Waking up, Milan's eyes widened. She had overslept.

"Shit!" She hissed, running into her bathroom. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and hopped into the shower. In all of 15 minutes she was out of the door and on her way. Deciding to check up on her family, she called each of them one by one.

"Hello?"

"Hey mommyyyyyyy."

"Briana what do you want? It's 8 in the morning?"

"Calling me by my middle name? Are you that unhappy to hear from me mother?"

"Of course not. I just woke up not too long ago. When are you coming to see me?"

"Soon."

"Milan."

"I've been busy mama. But I promise. I'll even come and cook everybody dinner."

"Yikes."

I moved my phone from my ear, staring at it.

"Mama, what did you just say?"

"I said yikes, isn't that what the kids are saying?" She began to laugh along with me. After talking for a little longer, I called my father who didn't answer.

Mal on the other hand, picked up on the third ring.

"Milan?"

"Hey Mal. Just checking up on youuuu."

"I'm in school Milan." Mallory laughed.

"Oh! I'm sorry. When do you get out?"

"This Friday."

"Oh okay. Maybe I'll take you shopping or something. I miss you."

"I miss you too. Byeeeee." She hummed before hanging up. I smiled, shaking my head. Although we aren't super close, I could see an improvement in Mal and I's relationship and that made me so happy.

Last was Mason.

Knowing that he was in school also, I decided to text him. He reminded me of the court date and told me that mom and dad grounded him. Of course.

Finally making it to the hospital. I parked and walked inside. Once saying hello to Nancy, I made my way up and to my desk. My internship was almost over, only 3 months left and I couldn't wait to finally have an official job here. It would mean that my dreams had finally come true. I was knocked back into reality by a stack of papers being thrown on my desk. I looked up at Maria and forced the best smile that I could.

"Goodmorning Ms. Anderson. How are you?"

"Fine." I said simply. "What is this?"

"Some files I new you to organize."

"Organizing files? Isn't that what the accountant is for?"

"You're the intern. Do as I say." She turned on her heels and walked away. I rolled my eyes, pulling out my phone and seeing a text from Elijah.

It was a picture of a nice amount of hair on his bathroom floor.

Elijah (8:56 am)
This normal?

- yes (8:57 am)

Biting my bottom lip, it was now hard to focus on anything. I was the only one who knew about Elijah's cancer and I know that this whole process is scaring him. Not having a true support system can make things even worse.

Ofcourse I wanted to support Elijah, but I'm sure moral support from people like his mom, Jordan, and Corey was all he needed to be a little more positive about this situation. I'm a new factor in his life and at this point I have no idea how much my support means to him or affects him. I just hope that I am making some type of impact in his life.
