Milan Anderson
Pulling up to Elijah's houseI parked, getting out and grabbing my purse. My mind drifts back to the last time I was here. Things seemed much different then. I came by because he wasn't feeling good and refused to do anything about it. I also needed an excuse to see him again after the way he suddenly walked out last night.
I knocked on the door, waiting for an answer. I knocked again and finally someone answered. I noticed it was Karina and I smiled.
"Hello Karina."
"Who are you again?" She asked, flipping her hair behind her shoulder and rolling her eyes.
"I'm Milan." I smiled back, letting myself in. It wasn't her house so I wasn't about to let her belittle me at the door step like she owned this bitch.
She laughed in a fake tone but I ignored her, calling for Elijah.
"Down he'a." I heard him call from the basement. Making my way down, he was laid out on the couch. I poked my lip out, kneeling next to him.
"How you feeling?"
"Shitty." He chuckled a little, caressing my face. I placed my hand over his as he continued to touch me. I then felt his forehead, it was hot as hell.
"Elijah why do you have it so cold down here? You're already sick." I walked over to the thermostat, turning it up. I noticed he had down here very neat and organized. There were shelves with extra blankets. I grabbed a few, noticing a few model cars sitting on his desk as well as pages and pages of car blueprints.
"I won' sick. Just not feeling good." He responded.
"Did you make these?" I ask, walking over and covering him up in blankets. I fluffed out his pillow for him and he nodded. He looked over at the blue prints and nodded, closing his eyes and placing his hands behind his head.
"How?" I asked, amazed.
"I get these visions in my head of different cars I think would look nice. I neva' wanna forget so I draw it out."
"You're so talented Elijah." I smiled at him.
"You too. You know what you good at?"
"What?"
"Stalling. C'mon Milan I know you wanna talk."
My eyes widened and I held back my laughter a little. He made me seem so easy to read but I know it's only because Elijah is very observant. He studies me constantly and I always try to ignore it.
"Well, I just wanted to ask why you left so suddenly last night." I sat Indian style on the floor right next to the couch. It was beginning to get toasty and warm.
"I just felt tha' need ta' leave."
"But why though?"
"You seemed uncomfortable so I thought I'd ease some of tha' tension."
"Did...ya know, seeing King upset you?"
"Nah." He responded dryly.
"Why would it?"
"Just a question." I shrugged it off.
Silence filled the two of us and I looked around the room, not sure what to say.
"So have you thought about telling your people?"
"I thought about it, yeah. Not going to though."
I rolled my eyes and smacked my teeth. "Elijah stop being selfish. They deserve to know."
"Selfish? Milan get tha' fuck out with that. You'on have cancer do you? No. so until you get it don't say shit else about how I'm being."
