Omniscient POV

Elijah's eyebrows rose as he lifted up from his back. Like a zombie he yawned, stretching out and looking around the low lit room. He noticed it wasn't his and quickly remembered that somehow he took a detour to Milan's place.

"Fuck." He whispered, holding his chest and coughing. He studied Milan's simple, but clean room. There were white curtains that blocked the sun just enough, a small white fur carpet, a white vanity with a tall mirror above it, all to match her simple white comforter, with two Tiffany blue pillows to add a tad bit of color.

Elijah laughed, scratching his head. For someone who wore mostly black, she had a white ass room, he thought. He noticed there was a small pallet on the floor and realized that Milan must've slept there last night.

The smell of bacon filled his nose as he sluggishly walked out, revealing himself to Milan.

"Goodmorning." Milan beamed, moving back and forth in the kitchen. She mixed the pancake batter while turning the strips of bacon. She seemed like a morning person to him. As annoying as that was, it was cute. Annoyingly cute.

"Arima is out with Corey, so it's just you and me. There's a brand new toothbrush and wash cloth sitting on the counter in my bathroom, feel free to use it."

Elijah nodded, pivoting and going to wash his face and brush his teeth. While doing so, he couldn't help but take a peek inside Milan's medicine cabinet.

"She got a damn kitchen in hea'." He mumbled, looking at all the natural oils and butters she had for her hair and skin. There were so many things that he thought was only used for cooking. Once rinsing his mouth, he wiped his face and came back into the kitchen with a plate waiting for him. Milan stared at him intently, not hiding it at all. Elijah could feel it but decided to ignore it for as long as he could. He knew Milan was stubborn when it came to certain things, he knew he wasn't gonna win.

Dropping his fork, he sighed. "What Milan? Whatchu' lookin' at?"

"You." She dropped her fork, resting her hands under her chin. Her bare skin had zero blemishes and seemed to glow in the morning light.

"Why?"

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Her response was so calm and timid. At this point, she was use to his harshness and didn't take it to heart. Elijah was just mean, sometimes he couldn't help it.

Sighing, he nodded, finishing up his food. Milan took their trash and cleaned up as he thanked her again. She walked over to the couch and he joined her. She figured it would take a little more fight to get it out of him, but nonetheless, she was happy that he was willing to talk about it with her.

"They hate me Milan...like they mad as shit."

"Mad?" Her right eyebrow rose. "Why do you say that."

"My mama damnear ran up on me, and Jordan looked like he wanted ta 2 piece me...I failed them."

"No you didn't Elijah don't speak like that. They are acting as if you asked for this but everybody knows cancer just comes...you can't run from it and nobody is exempt." Milan rubbed Elijah's back to comfort him.
