Milan Anderson

Pulling up, I parked, getting out and shutting my door. I jogged up the few stairs, making my way to the front desk.

"Hi how may I-"

"Mason Benjamin Anderson." Milan stated, cutting the woman off.

"Are you here to bail him out?"

"Bail?" My eyebrows rose. "I can't just pick him up?"

"No. He's been charged for assault."

"Assault?!" My heart began to beat even faster, as if that was possible. Mason wasn't the violent type at all, so whatever happened had to have been serious for him to end up here.

Tapping her foot, Milan stood quickly as her little brother was brought out, still in cuffs. Biting her bottom lip, Milan held back her tears. Seeing her little brother like this didn't make her happy at all.

The cop released Mason as he walked slowly over to his sister. Not even acknowledging him, she turned on her heels, heading back out to her car. Once in, she put her seat belt on and rested her head on her steering wheel. She slowly lifted her head, dropping it back on the wheel. She repeated this a few times while Mason sighed.

"Milan....Milan!"

"What?" She snapped back, lifting her head.

"What's wrong with you man?"

"Assault Mason? Freaking assault? Why? How?" She raised her voice as her eyes widened. If there was one thing Mason hated, it was disappointing his big sister. He looked up to Milan so much and the last thing he wanted to do was upset her like this.

Clenching his jaw, he sat back in the passenger seat.

"I heard Mal crying on the phone or whatever, so I asked what was wrong. She wouldn't tell me, so I found out myself."

"How?"

"I went through her phone. Long story short, cuz was being mad disrespectful, so I pulled up and handled him." His strong Baltimore accent began to show as he balled up his fists.

"Mason what did you do?"

"I showed him what happens when somebody disrespects my sister."

"What about being the bigger person? Damn Mason. You know this isn't the end of this right?"

"Whatchu mean?"

"You have a court case in a few weeks. An assault charge doesn't just go away." She stressed, smacking her teeth and starting up her car. She pulled out of the parking lot and started the journey to her mom's house. Mason turned on the radio as India Arie's The Truth played lowly. Milan sighed, tapping her hands against the wheel while at a red light.

The song reminded her of Elijah and the night that she drove him home due to his drinking. That seemed so long ago and she couldn't help but be upset at what he said to her.

If anything, after what they're both doing for eachother, she thought that he would at least consider her a friend. And aren't friends suppose to care?

Smacking her teeth, she pulled up to her parent's house. She parked the car and turned it off. Mason reached for the door to open it but Milan locked them.

"Mase..why?"

"I'm sorry Milan, I really am. I was just reacting off of anger. But you know I'd do anything for you and Mal. Like I don't care."

"You need to. What if he called his friends for backup instead of the police? Who knows where you'd be. And be grateful that you made it to jail alive. We're you not listening to the talk dad had with us weeks ago?"

"I was." He sighed. "I'm sorry just please don't tell mom and dad."

"They're gonna know Mason, because you have to attend that court case. Good luck." She unlocked her car and he leaned over, kissing her cheek.

"I love you sis."

"I love you too. Tell mom and dad hello for me, Mal too."

"Alright."

After watching him make it inside safely, Milan backed out, heading home. She would've spent the night but she just wanted to be alone and in her own room tonight. She was tired from rushing to land here and all she wanted to do was crash.

Elijah POV

"You got it babe?" Karina asked, helping me out the car.

"Yes Karina." I said back annoyed. We fucked a few days ago and ever since she's been under the impression that me and her we're back together.

I guess apart of that is my fault. I have the tendency to say shit I don't mean sometimes. It wasn't to hurt her though, I was just in the moment.

Once inside, I went straight to my room, stripping my clothes and hopping in the shower. Once out, I threw on boxers and a t shirt before climbing in bed. My drifted to Milan and how upset I know I made her.

No matter how much she tried to hide shit, I could always see right past that wall she put up. She was hurt.

All I was doing was trying to protect her though. Protect her from something I knew she wouldn't be able to handle. That's why im doing this shit. I made a mental note to text her in the morning or some shit before falling asleep.
